We just returned from renting the entire Lookout Inn with a group of friends. It was spectacular!! Being as NOLA is hot in July, the pool was absolutely the highlight. We woke up and jumped right in for the day, then experienced the nightlife that is New Orleans. The pool/cabana area had everything we needed. It was such a beautiful...

Hey there! Thanks so much for your glowing review of your stay at The Lookout. It was so much fun having you guys. I'm glad you enjoyed sightseeing and were able to come back and relax in the pool; just what you need on these hot summer days. So glad you made it to Jack Dempsey's; definitely one of the...

We brought our entire family, young and old, to the Lookout and had a lifetime experience there. The delicious pool was our gathering point and rejuvenation station during some hot weather. What a must that so many other lodging choices didn't even offer. Have Kelly set you up with the local bike rental company and you will increase your ability...

After seeing the photos on the website, I knew the Lookout Inn would be either horribly tacky or delightfully charming; thankfully it was the latter. I was in the Bollywood suite. It was quite large and airy (huge bathroom) and had a wonderfully eclectic collection of antiques and objets d'arts. There are only 4 suites and even though it appeared...

There isn't enough space to rave about the Lookout Inn. The most important thing for me is the owner who sets the tone for the entire stay. Kelly and her husband are wonderful and available without hovering. They have created a lovely oasis in a beautifully restored house. They love their home and want guests to love it too. We...

We were 12 friends and families all together :) and we booked the whole Inn! It was a great choice! Kelly was wonderful, pleasant and prompt. One of us, left behind a T-Shirt and she even offered to mail it. The Inn is very charming and has a very NOLA essence. There was a lot of furniture to accommodate all...

My extended family rented the entire inn recently for a vacation and could not have asked for a better stay. The inn is the perfect base of operations for out of towners. It's located in the charming Bywater neighborhood, and one night after a great dinner at The Joint, we walked around the area and met several very friendly neighbors....

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
