We went with a group of 10 and booked 3 rooms here. The location was great, not far from Frenchman St and Bourbon St. Great breakfast place literally right across the street. Unfortunately the place was not very clean. Random hairs that weren't ours all over the bathroom, the sheets and comforters had lots of stains. We found some random...

This is not a review of the B&B, but of one of the "rooms" in the Creole Cottage at the front of the property. We stayed in The Jazz suite with kitchen area, queen bed and a small bathroom. Yes, the property is old and eclectic which attracted us, but it is also tired and grubby, which was not attractive...

The Bohemian Armadillo is a small guest house on Touro Street, just off Frenchman, and sort of north of the French Quarter, but within quite easy walking distance. The Marigny is truly the most exciting, non-touristy neighborhood in the city, and finding this jewel of a guesthouse was a treat. We stayed in the big house behind the guest rooms,...

The Bohemian Armadillo made for a highly convenient, comfortable, and affordable stay during our 5 day vacation in New Orleans. Situated on a quiet street in the Marigny district, you'd never know this place was literally around the corner from the bustling Frenchman Street (great live music) and just a short walk from the French Quarter. Dayna, the owner who...

... so much better than staying in a hotel! Stayed for a week, by the third day it felt like I'd lived in the neighbourhood for years. Quiet streets, friendly neighbours, you can walk anywhere. The restaurant across the street (La Peniche) is great, great food & prices, friendly staff and open 24 hrs. (most of the week). Short walk...

My boyfriend and I flew in late, were exhausted, and were so happy when the innkeeper (Dayna) greeted us at the gate and got us right into our room (Jazz room). We walked inside and I immediately fell in love with the decor and set up of the room. It was very clean, the bed is super comfortable, and the...

These guest cottages turned out to be perfect for my visit to NOLA for French Quarter Fest. The Marigny location one block from Frenchman St., and a short walk to the Quarter couldn't be better. My room facing the side was large, clean and quiet, with a bath, bedroom and small kitchen. It is located in a real neighborhood, with...

Our stay during French Quarter Fest could not have been more enjoyable. We occupied the Voodoo Room and were extremely comfortable. The innkeeper, Dayna, very nice in accommodating our every wish. Thanks Dayna! Great location, a block off Frenchman and short walk to Quarter. Our new home when visiting NOLA!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay here for french quarter fest. We'll definitely be back Dayna was a wonderful host and our room (the bordello room) was as advertised and tastefully decorated. The other guests were great and you can't beat the neighborhood. If you expect daily maid service and other chain hotel services, then you should stay...

My girlfriend and I stayed in the Voodoo room for a few days and really enjoyed it. The place has character and was exactly what we were looking for in New Orleans. You can't beat the location, it is close to everything while still being nice and quiet. You don't actually get breakfast with the room but the restaurant across...

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.

“Tjhe bordello room is great for a couple, You can hear people walking by as it fronts onto the street, but we enjoyed it as it was actually quite entertaining to listen to the passerbys conversations. The voodoo room is nice with a a full kitchen and towards the back of the hpuse. The remaining room is quite beautiful, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there!”
