Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

The staff was great room clean and good location. New Orleans was fun and the best city that I visited on vacation. Great history food and locals are friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back and the casino's are a plus

The Garden Inn is just 2 blocks off Bourbon St. It was very convenient. While parking is not cheap at $38 per day, the price is competitive and it is valet with good service. The hotel is unusual with the lobby on the 11th floor.

Thank you for your post, John! We are always excited to be a part of a 5 star New Orleans experience. While you mention that the hotel is unique, running from floor 11-18 in our building, we do love that it affords great views of the city- especially from the roof top pool deck! We hope that your travels bring you back to New Orleans for another stay soon!

Service here is abysmal. The rooms are fine—standard for a Hilton Garden Inn. Cleanliness was not an issue. The room walls do not buffer sound, so if you are a light sleeper and happen to have a room next to New Orleans partiers, no sleep for you.

Customer service here was not good, no smiling faces as we checked in. We had not been told parking was $38 plus tax each night. We were there not for enjoyment but to take care of my uncle in the hospital who then passed away while we were there and we took care of his

It will most likely be warm in the daytime and cooler once the sun goes down. You can expect rain most any time of the year here, so I’d suggest a light windbreaker and some sort of rain wear at the very least. Most of the souvenir shops or convenience stores will have relatively inexpensive rain ponchos, umbrellas and such for sale if you’re space limited. Have fun!

Yes, you can make arrangements with the concierge and bellhop to hold your luggage on the day of check in and check out. As far as airport transportation, call their front desk since that may be available based on the events occurring in the city at the time of your visit.

I suggest you remove the canister, it could get damaged. Yes, they can take an SUV but parking is very tight.
