The hostel is located near the corner of 3200 Canal St. and South Lopez St., in the Mid-City area of New Orleans. The streetcar runs along Canal St. to the French Quarter. It is only a ten minute walk to JazzFest and Voodoo Fest in City Park. There are male, female and mixed dorms, as well as private rooms available. Spacious comfortable common areas, a fully equipped kitchen with a rear courtyard, a swimming pool, a stage and full breakfast and cheap evening meals cooked daily. India House is a hostel, not a hotel so please be aware of that before booking. We provide inexpensive, sociable accommodation usually dormitory style with shared bathrooms and communal facilities. We do have Private en suite rooms available as well.

I stayed here for 3 nights and had a blast. The breakfast and dinner is great and not to mention cheap. Staff are very friendly and more than happy to help. The whole place is old but that just adds to the character.

Yeah there was a kitchen and refrigerator for guests to use. Although we didn't use either during our stay. We only had breakfast there, and it was amazing for 5$.

"Bacchus room was off the courtyard and easy to get to."
"Less light in the back. The Private rooms are really nice and a good deal. Rooms in the front get a lot of light from the street."
