This was mine and my boyfriends first time in New Orleans and it was fantastic! The Auld Sweet Olive B&B was a great choice of accommodation. It's in a wonderful neighbourhood with some really lovely bars and restaurants close by. Our favourite was the Franklin, but I'd highly recommend booking as it gets busy! The B&B is in a perfect...

A beautiful property perfectly designed to bring you back in time and at the same time offer you todays' comforts located in a nice quiet neighborhood outside the center. The room and bathroom super clean and the breakfast very tasty and original. The in-keeper was very helpful with tips that will give you a more of an insider's view of...

We had a very positive experience in this B and B. We appreciated that it was not right in the French Quarter. The Marigny is a charming neighborhood to wander through. Great coffee shops and places to get a drink nearby.

We stayed 5 great days at the sweet olive inn. Really warm and freindly people who work threre, and they were all very helpful and happy to recommend restaurants and such. Really liked the organic shampoo and conditioner and the green thinking in general, with the breakfast and recycling of bottles. The location is the best possible, close to a...

As a native of New Orleans, I had high expectations for our stay, and Sweet Olive exceeded them! The home was beautiful; the owner, Nancy and staff Jim and Robbie were incredibly kind and engaging. The neighborhood is delightful and the walk to and from the Quarter was perfect for burning all the calories we ate and drink in the...

My boyfriend and I had a great stay at Sweet Olive. It's located walking distance to frenchman's street and the French quarter. We stayed in the cypress room and the owners were friendly. I can't really say much about the breakfast because we didn't wake up in time for it.

There were 4 in our group and we booked the adjoining rooms. We had the best time while in New Orleans. Allison made us feel at ease and as though we were vising with a long time friend. All the rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were outstanding. Who would have thought our hostess Allison was also an excellent baker...

The room we stayed in was quite nice as it had its own separate entrance with a very comfortable bed. However there was some dust on the ceiling which was probably hard to get to as the ceilings were high. The B&B was in a very nice location in a quaint neighborhood which was walkable to the French Quarter. Some...

Very relaxed friendly atmosphere. Well run and maintained. Nice location away from the hustle of the French Quarter, but still within walking distance. 1 small block from St Rochs market. Best breakfast :-)

This was the first visit to New Orleans for my husband and I. We loved this historic beauty. Alison is an excellent innkeeper and provides helpful suggestions for restaurants, tours and directions. We felt right at home from the start. It was a great location-close enough to walk to the French Quarter yet far enough to provide quiet retreat. Breakfast...

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out.
