Great hotel, lovely communal areas and well priced. This hotel is 10 mins from French quarter but far far quieter so if you want to sleep I recommend it! Walls are slightly thin so you do get some noise from corridor but not a lot. The one thing that is frustrating is the lack of hooks in the bathroom! Lucy's... More

This renaissance while in a good location was one of the worst stays. Food was mediocre at best, bathroom lighting was so dark our young child asked why it was so dark...front desk service staff was the only shining light in all. Do not recommend.

Rooms were quite large, clean, quiet and with a comfortable bed, the staff were friendly, the hotel is in a great location within easy walk of the French Quarter, the hop-on hop-off bus and Riverwalk. Breakfast was inexpensive and food in general at hotel reasonably priced. Only downside was the lack of a guest laundry but staff directed us to... More

I couldn't pronounce the street this hotel sits on, but I could tell you it's the best place to stay when in New Orleans. It's close to the action (just a few blocks away; maybe 5 - 10 minute walk to French Quarter, Riverwalk, etc.) but far enough away from all the chaos to enjoy some necessary quiet. Truly great... We are frequent travelers to New Orleans and prefer to be out of the French Quarter but close enough to walk to it. This lovely hotel is a five minute walk away in the newly-fashionable warehouse/art gallery district - just a block from Emeril's and close to the other attractions. This former 5 story warehouse is completely renovated with nice... More

The hotel is very clean and well kept. We had three rooms mine was close to the elevator which I do not recommend - I needed to move due to the amount of noise in the middle of the night and the panel of the air conditioner fell off. Housekeeping not the best; towels/ soap removed not replaced but they... More

I read and rely on Tripadvisor for so many trips, hotels, activities, restaurants, but have been too lazy to get online and leave a review. Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A historic setting, contemporary style, and a unbeatable location near New Orleans' French Quarter and in the heart of the trendy food mecca of the Warehouse District: all of this and more elevates the Renaissance New Orleans Arts Hotel to an unforgettable New Orleans experience. Our building is a former warehouse, dating from the early 20th century; we've preserved a sense of old-world elegance in our surroundings, while simultaneously infusing a thoroughly contemporary sense of convenience and art. Please note that our restaurant is currently undergoing renovations and we look forward to unveiling a stunning new restaurant to our guests in early 2015. For now, we recommend that our guests enjoy the many amazing New Orleans dining experiences within a short walking distance of our front doors, such as Cochon, Emeril's, Root, Tommy's Bistro, and many more. Our Navigators will be delighted to help you discover the best possible cuisine during your stay in New Orleans. ... more   less
