We recently stayed here for 2 nights. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful at reception. They remembered us every time we left/came back to the hotel and greeted us by name. The location was great; short walk to Bourbon Street.
The room was excellent. Love the way the building was re-purposed as a hotel. The lobby is excellent with a nice bar, pool table, and a sitting area. We didn't indulge in the restaurant given the number of local eating establishments but it looked good....More
We were there last week... it was a busy week... the room was small, we had a great view of the roof of the ruby slipper next door.. which was kinda bad, but oh well..

This hotel staff absolutely make this hotel, they show amazing southern hospitality. The rooms are what you would expect in a standard hotel room. The bed is very firm, the shower is large and powerful.

Having stayed here several times, it is my favorite hotel. The staff is excellent. Really exceptional. Everyone from housekeeping to front desk staff to valets.
Rooms are clean, heating and AC are quiet, beds are very comfortable and they make it feel special.
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts
District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

There is valet parking available, which can be a bit pricey. Honestly, if you don't have to have a car with you, I wouldn't. The hotel is located about two blocks from Bourbon Street (about a 5 min walk, if that) and also very close to other tourist spots (like Jackson Square, Garden District, etc.) You can always uber/lyft to places for a cheaper price than the valet parking price.
