My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights. Great location, fun and funky boutique type hotel. We had a king size room... glad of it since the rooms are small with no real drawers/dressers so our suitcases were our bureau. Check in at the bar which was fine. My biggest issue was housekeeping. I am not a millennial so...

We spent six nights at MOXY New Orleans. The location was close to all the downtown sites but was far enough away that we felt like we were locals who had a downtown apartment. Every morning, we walked two blocks for excellent coffee at Dee's. Every evening, we went to Rouse's grocery store three blocks away to pick up croissants...

The MOXY is located in the Central Business District next to the French Quarter. The location is great and near all of the main tourist attractions. The Mercedes-Benz Superdome is a short walk from the hotel. The bar in the hotel is 24 HOURS. The rooms are nice but a little small. The showers are very nice with a raindrop...

I love love love this place. You check in at the bar and they hand you a free cocktail. The bar is open 24 hours. The room is very spacious and clean. I love the style of the room! It's a very close walk to Canal Street. I will always stay here when I'm in New Orleans.

Moxy has been redesigned from an old Quality Inn. It is currently aimed at a hipster crowd, which we decidedly are not. But all are welcome, and we never felt anything less. You check in at the bar, and are offered a free cocktail, and lots of advise on how to negotiate the city. The room was wonderful...I've read stuff...

You walk into this hotel and head straight to the bar to check in. They give you a complimentary drink when you sign in as well! The rooms were great. Definitely a modern hotel but really enjoyed staying here. Staff was excellent as well!

The Moxy Hotel is very interesting with many types of games and books in the lobby to make your stay enjoyable. Checking in at the bar and receiving an "On the house" cocktail is just the beginning. The staff is extremely friendly and wants to make sure you have a memorable stay. Location is perfect! Walking distance to French Quarter,...

This hotel has a few good points but it is not for boomers who appreciate amenities and comfort over "cute." Morning coffee is only at the bar, not in the rooms, and they didn't make cream and sugar available until later. They don't know what a hand towel is. The staff was very friendly, but even a simple request never...

Our daughter knew we were coming to New Orleans and treated us to the Moxy for a couple nights. Its certainly a different style concept but the staff was extraodinarily friendly and helpful. The beds were great and the shower really nice. The location cant be better. No parking on premises but valet offered and lots of garages all around....

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
