Stayed at the Renaissanace New Orleans Pere Marquette Hotel at the end of January for 2 nights. The hotel is located a block from Canal street and 2 blocks from Bourbon street. The hotel is close enough to the French Quarter without being in the middle of all the noise. My room was on the 7th floor. Positives: - The...

My four girlfriends and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is situated in a great location just a few blocks off Canal Street and within walking distance of the French Quarter, restaurants, the river walk, and shopping. The lobby, rooms and bar/restaurant are all in a wonderful condition with a modern flare. There's even a Starbucks...

There are many choices for hotels in the New Orleans area. This is a great one that is close to Bourbon street without being a part of the chaos. Just a few short blocks away from all the action on a quiet side street, the hotel has a sleek, stylish lobby with comfortable simple rooms. The staff is friendly and...

We stayed at this hotel during a 6 week trip last year. The hotel looked fabulous, the food in the restaurant was very good and the staff were helpful. BUT and it was a big "but" the noise from the construction works on the building across the road ruined our stay. The works started at 0600 weekday mornings and continued...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
