I usually avoided staying at a B&B because group breakfasts is not my cup of tea on vacation. I enjoy privacy and the freedom to "do my own thing" over meeting other guests and feeling obligated to make small talk. The Green House Inn was a nice mix of both; you could have a light breakfast with others, or take...

The first thing I want to say is that the two men that run the place are GREAT. Always felt at home the entire time. The building is in the up and coming Garden District and just a $6.00 Uber to the Quarter. We stayed in the largest room, The Royal Ponciana Suite. The room was charming, and large. Had...

The tropical pool area cannot be beat! This "tropical oasis" was perfect for the down time and relaxation we needed. Great location! Great feel! We stayed in the...

My stay here was very warming, with very friendly staff. All amenities were superb including a rather vast breakfast with fresh waffles and coffee! The grounds were surrounded by lush foliage and the other guests were all easy going and friendly. Far enough from Bourbon St to avoid the noise and bustle, but close enough to get to the action...

This B&B has a lot going for it. Location - It is easy to get to and close to many attractions. The gated parking is a nice plus. The House - It is an old house but the restoration was very well done with very comfortable rooms. The Pool/Gardens - This was our favorite part. The landscaping is lush with...

Great location to visit the World War Two museum. The bedroom we had was wonderful. The staff helped us with our luggage upon check-in and checkout. Thank you Frank and John, we will be back again. If you call advance, you may be able to check in early if your room was not used the day before.

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
