The Whitney is about five blocks or so from Canal and on to the bars and restaurants of the French Quarter. At night it is a quiet walk past hotels and office buildings once you cross canal returning home. The staff is very friendly in that way New Orleans is. There is a small restaurant for breakfast and coffee if...

Everything was great. Very comfortable. Friendly staff. Great locAtion. Building is fabulous. I would stay here again. In between French quarter and garden district. Front desk staff very helpful. We asked for a refrigerator and they brought it right away. So accommodating.

My wife kinda screwed up the reservation and when we got there realised we came in a day late. It was a bit funny actually (since I am responsible for most screw ups with reservations). The staff where very accommodating and gave us an additional day. We are very grateful for that. Rooms are nice, but a little small for...

This hotel is in a great location. Far enough from the quarter that it is quiet, yet close enough to walk to virtually anything. Property needs some maintenance/upkeep and the rooms and beds are small. Overall a nice property, but short on amenities.

Your hotel is beautiful to look at but mattresses are so outdated we had to move. The front desk staff was remarkably uninformed about the transportation alternatives for the Jazz Fest while the room rates are elevated and a minimum stay is required.

The room was fine, and the hotel is a historic property. Breakfast was not available on one day liver the weekend early in the day. One day I did go for breakfast and it left much to be desired. The coffee wasn't great and the menu items are few and barely adequate. One day over the weekend the room wasn't...

I stayed there for two nights and the location is fantastic. Only a few minutes walking distance away from the French Quarter. Also, the service and the staff are great. Especially TIA, was a sweatheart during my stay. She did everything to make my stay even more comfortable. The rooms are lovely equipped, fits to the Louisiana style and I...

We went for the French Quarter Festival and this was a great location, since the first stage (Riverside) was just down the street close to the casino. It is about a 10-15 min walk to the French Quarter (hotel is just west). Felt safe. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Wifi worked well. Good value. So definitely met our needs. Note that...

The Whitney mixes all the charm of a Boutique Hotel, with an excellent location close to the French Quarter for exploring, but far enough to be away from the hectic chaotic noise of the FQ. Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
