Nestled in a prime location, Four Points by Sheraton French Quarter is a hit with guests for its proximity to local attractions and amenities such as a balcony and pool. While the vibrant atmosphere with music into the early hours delights many, some visitors find the ambiance in the rooms lacking and the noise levels disruptive. The hotel's cleanliness and friendly service earn praise, though opinions on room sizes and noise vary. Despite the convenience, a few guests feel that the value is lessened by the high prices and persistent noise.

We arrived in the Big Easy around 9am on a Sunday and knew that check in Wasn’t gonna be until around 4pm. My hubby and I went to the hotel to drop our bags and were greeted with very friendly and eager service. The bellman was kind and handled our bags with great care, and even let us access them a few times before our room was ready. I wish I remembered his name because he was great!! We then went to the front desk to check in, although we knew it would be several hours until we’d actually have a room. Janea was the front desk associate that took care of us. She explained that because she was registering us so early that there was a good chance our room would be ready early. She took my phone number to let me know when the room was ready, and even asked if I would rather be called or texted for notifications.
Then she proceeded to give us some insights for good food and things to do before we got to the room. She was FABULOUS!!! Just the right amount of sassy and fun mixed with her very professional demeanor. Our room was ready around 1:30pm, 2and a half hours earlier than we expected which was wonderful. After settling in, the staff remained incredibly helpful and accommodating. We had a few requests for extra towels and coffee for the room and they were always met with kind accommodation. The room was very clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but very nice. I would certainly recommend this property to anyone visiting the French Quarter. An excellent experience overall!

Nice hotel in an historic building right on Bourbon Street.

Yes, it's loud. If you want quiet, you don't want to be on Bourbon Street.

Yes, the rooms and bathrooms are kinda small. You'll have to expect that in an historic building.

However, if you want to be right in the middle of the Bourbon Street action, this is a great place choice.

People-watching from the balcony is like endless free entertainment. The staff was wonderful (the two bell hops both sprang into action and searched high and low to find a corkscrew for us), the pool courtyard was a peaceful place to enjoy coffee in the morning, and we had a really great time.

The breakfasts were beyond expectations! The menu doesn't adequately describe what you get for your money. Many of the selections are served in skillets. The biscuits and gravy had five or six biscuits, smothered in a nice sausage gravy, and topped with eggs cooked to order. The blueberry pancakes were really good, and the ham egg and cheese muffin sandwich comes with TWO sandwiches plus fried potatoes with sauteed cherry tomatoes. Given the amount of food you get and the quality, the value is very good! And the ladies taking care of us at breakfast were super nice!

The only thing that kept this from being rated "Excellent" was some cosmetic issues in the room. The bathroom double doors were hard to fully close and then open, the blinds on the French doors to the balcony are beat up and need to be replaced, the ceiling in the bathroom had some water damage from the room above, and the balcony railings, floor and exterior of the doors needs a fresh coat of paint.

But I'm sure that room has seen some hard partying over the years, and everything was surprisingly clean and odor-free given that fact.

Laissez les bons temps rouler at the Four Points! You'll be glad you did (again, only if you want to be in the middle of the Bourbon Street craziness... if not, this isn't the place for you).

As others have stated - fantastic location! Right in the middle of Bourbon Street and deep in the heart of the French Quarter. You're a 10 minute walk from the riverfront, Jackson Square, and St Louis Cemetery #1. We stayed in a balcony room overlooking Toulouse St and it was a happy medium. We could see (kinda) and hear Bourbon St but when we shut the doors it was a tolerable noise level. They DO provide ear plugs in the room, but we're accustomed to city noises like music, car horns, and the occasional banshee wail so it wasn't an issue for us. The hotel itself is hard-worn. I dont want to think about the amount and quality of use these rooms see, but aside from the frayed carpet and slightly mouldy showers, everything is functional and comfortable. We did find the maid service to be a little odd - they came by and gave us fresh towels each day (which were thick and fluffy), but they don't do anything in the guest room like vacuum or make beds. All in all, an excellent choice if your intent is to stay close to the Bourbon Street action.

I totally expected to get some noise being on Bourbon street. We booked a room on the courtyard side to attempt to have a reasonably quieter room. I didn’t expect that the problem would be the noise of people talking in the next room. When they would laugh at 2am it was unbearable. Why not go party on Bourbon?! Anyway- called security over the phone and they came up banging on our door to confirm we wanted to complain. Yes. That’s why we called. Why double check it 2 min later? If they knocked on the door of the room next to us that we complained about they would have found all the people in the room being loud. Instead we had to get out of bed to answer our door. I’m sure they heard the people next to us from the hall. Weird.

There’s no ventilation in the rooms and it’s pretty stuffy. I’ve noticed a few other recent reviews recognizing both the problems we’ve noticed. I also saw many of the reviews talk about the hotel being dated and grungy. I could see that. It doesn’t bother us but I can see why someone paying >$250 a night wouldn’t be happy. It’s not terrible, but not great. Maybe average at best. Everyone is giving it extra marks for location but there’s tons of options in French Quarter and everything is walkable distance so don’t have that be the deciding factor. I’d stay here again if the price is right. That’s around $120 a night... if you get the price around there and don’t mind sleeping with headphones then go for it. (They do provide foam ear plugs but it won’t be enough- fair warning)

This hotel is in need of a remodel, they charge premium prices, yet it is tired and in need of renovation to compete with the better hotels. It is counting on its location and exterior appearance, yet inside it is plain and uninspired. The Royal Sonesta accross the street is awesome inside. Stayed at the wrong hotel.

Staff were friendly and some were helpful. Rooms old and worn. We thought the ear plugs on each side of the bed were for the music on Bourbon Street. You really need them to prevent hearing the entire conversation of people waiting for the elevator and/or in the room next door. Valet parking is efficient if they are not busy texting when you want your car. If driving, difficult to get n or out due to traffic, but it is conveniently located in the heart of NOLA - hence the extra star. Place is old and tired without the charm or character.

Great location to be in and out as and when we needed to rest between our walks around French quarters. Room is clean and new, even the bathroom feels newly renovated. After reading all the “worn out” reviews, we felt so relieved! Bed is so comfy. Pool view room is quiet. Valet parking is reasonable and smooth. Housekeeping is available on request due to Covid, which we did not. Just a note, they will not replenish complimentary water unless you request housekeeping service. They did however provide new cups and additional coffee, but no water. Not a big deal I know, but sometimes it is the details that adds comfort. Nonetheless, great stay overall, location is key!!!

What a great location and the staff is super friendly! Room was clean as a whistle and the valet parking was a breeze. There’s a security guard outside all night who keeps the doors locked. Pool was open until 10 and there’s plenty of usb & plugs in the room.

The water pressure in the shower was great but the water is different here than from our house, sort of felt like there was conditioner left in my hair so not sure if that means it’s hard or soft.

Air conditioning is stellar, I like it to be cold like the Arctic and even though it was 300 million degrees outside and 100% humidity, the room stayed ice cold.

There’s a mini fridge hidden in a cupboard, didn’t find that until this morning lol.

The only reason I docked them a star is because other than the in-room coffee, (the little single serve with the round filters- not keurig) if you wake up before 8 the closest coffee is 4 blocks away. Not sure why there isn’t a percolator set up in the lobby for early risers but I’m sure they have their reasons.

Would 100% stay here again, in fact already planning to come back.

The rooms are a little small, but you are paying for location. There is no small refrigerator which one could expect from this price point, but it's gorgeous inside. They provide earplugs if needed due to the noise on bourbon street. We had a balcony room and wonderful weather, so sitting out on the balcony was great. Outdoor pool with a courtyard and valet parking on property. You are in the center of action at this hotel. Most of the employees were very friendly and it's only 1/2 a block away from pat o'briens. You can walk to a lot of attractions from this location.

We have just returned to the UK from New Orleans and stayed for 6 nights at Four Points. We read previous reviews and booked a courtyard room and we couldn’t hear any of the noise on Bourbon Street. The reception staff were so very helpful, as indeed were all the staff. The rooms are serviced alternate days but you can request additional towels and coffee. There is complementary water on alternate days. Having previously stayed in New York we were amazed we were not charge an additional daily supplement for Wi-Fi etc. The hotel do offer a breakfast which we had on 3 mornings and was reasonably priced and there was a decent selection. The bar is pleasant. Our room had a balcony and it was lovely to sit on our balcony early evening and enjoy a glass of wine.
It was too chilly to sample the pool but in hot weather it would be a welcome bonus.
We have nothing negative to say about the hotel and based on our stay would recommend it to others.

I did not get a balcony suite but I got a double double bed room - even I went as a couple only. I suspect that the difference is the type of bed. I don’t remember about the microwave but I remember that the fridge was so small. I did not do takeout because I spent 4 days / 3 nights were just right to try the different cuisines. I took a takeout sandwich back to the hotel once and I ate this in the side room that is often used as a conference room. There was a microwave for the workers to heat their lunches. I suppose that you can have access to a common microwave if you ask. Hope that this helps.

I think that it opens at 9am and closes at 9pm. The pool is in the courtyard- which means that it’s an ideal spot to be seen. In addition, there is always a sunny or shady side - except for noon of course. One more thing, you can order drinks pool side which is plus for me. Good luck CJ.
