Maison de La Luz has been really high on our list for awhile now and we finally hit it up. It outstripped our already-wild expectations in terms of design, fnb offerings, amenities, and most importantly— service. The check in experience was genuinely welcoming, convivial and informative. The lobby honor bar, breakfast room and entryway were perfectly appointed and organized in a way that felt both incredibly luxurious but also super comfortable and accessible for all. You already know this but for the people in the back I’ll just say: Bar Marilou is not to be missed. Drinks were perfect but the roasted garlic that is dotted in their olive/almond dish made my eyes roll into the back of my head in a way that truly embarrassed my wife. Coffee service each morning to our room was a true highlight and I am sure to talk about this seamless service till my dying days. All front office and service staff we encountered were so awesome but Sean and Shane (sp?) on the night shift were so especially hospitable it was ridiculous. They genuinely cared about our stay, were insanely kind and y’all are not only lucky to have them on your team but to be commended for fostering an environment where these super duper stars can shine. I could go on but holy moley you guys rock. Thanks for the special stay and all the best going forward. We’ll be back. Bet.…
The minute we walked in we were stopped in our tracks by the sheer beauty of the hotel. The entire design aesthetic was incomparable, even down to the foot holder sculpture for the complimentary pistachio nuts in the foyer! This is a hotel for art and design lovers. The plush carpeting in the hallways and lighting and wallcoverings all added to the luxury feel. And to top it off, the spacious bathroom has the most gorgeous italian tile ever encountered anywhere. Staff was wonderful and helpful, with special shout out to Sarah and Sean. Tremendous disappointm ent was not being shown the absolutely gorgeous bar area until the day we checked out. If we had known about it we would have gladly spent every evening there. So beautiful. Look forward to returning often.
A homely luxurious place to stay. Nice touches throughout the hotel in style and treats. Best bit was the speak easy. Breakfast staff, concierge and receptionists and waiters were brilliant. Room not made up for 3 days due to lack of communication
What a beautiful hotel, so stylish and quirky. Very friendly staff, great bar and speakeasy. Very nice bedroom. Great location. Lots of complimentary treats. No room service, system through reception didn’t work so the hotel needs to make sure this is sorted for other guests.
rooms were large and well appointed. beds were to die for comfortable. Staff was top notch, and were very knowledgeable about NOLA which helped since it was our first trip. This was our first trip and we will defiantly be back.
We stayed 3 nights here and loved it! The rooms are spacious and well designed. The bathtubs are fantastic and the bedding is luxurious. We had a drink at Bar Marilou. They make a great cocktail. We didn't eat at the hotel just because there's so much amazing food in NoLa to try but we'll definitely eat there next time. It's a bit of a walk to the French Quarter but wasn't an issue unless we were running late for dinner reservations. We'll be back again soon.
Absolutely lovely hotel! The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The public spaces are beautiful. The breakfast is great. Everyone who works there goes above and beyond to make sure things are perfect. The location is good- short walk to the French Quarter and short taxi/Uber ride to Uptown and Garden District. We visited Hotel St Vincent and Hotel Peter and Paul while we were there and, while they are both lovely, we were glad we were staying at Maison de La Luz. I could not recommend it more highly!
I have never stayed in a hotel that was this amazing. The staff, the food, the location and room was better than I could have hoped for. Each person took genuine interest in us. They gave us great recommendations and we enjoyed the morning conversations during our breakfast. Location: Easy walk to everything and lots of great restaurants in the area Bar: Lovely speakeasy in the hotel. The food is great and the drinks are even better Staff: EVERY person is great! Room: Quiet and cozy (I didn't hear a single thing and slept well). Room was stocked with a full bar Food: I highly recommend eating breakfast here. The food is soooo delicious
Christmas week because we wanted somewhere warmer. Well, the weather killed the warm part but the hotel was fabulous. Service was top notch. Room was on the 6th floor and was quiet (occasional sounds from the streetcar) . We were very happy with the bath, bed, and amenities. Love the morning coffee, delivered to your room almost immediately on a call. The shower was particularly awesome. There is a great breakfast room and small restaurant. They have no gym but are partners with the Ace next door so you can wander over to work out. Concierge service was good. Maid service was really great. Love it and we will return with warmer weather. Short walk to the Quarter and there are great local restaurants.
Absolutely outstanding and everything you would expect from a luxury hotel. Beautifully appointed - no detail spared. Coffee service (delivered to your room daily) was a game-changer and the hotel breakfast was a culinary delight. Drinks at Marilou next door also a must. Service was outstanding and the concierge went out of her way to make our stay (our belated anniversary celebration) special. We have been to New Orleans many times but she helped us discover some new gems we might not have otherwise. We have also stayed many places in NOLA but will be making Maison de la Luz our destination for every trip moving forward.
