A historic church, school house, rectory and convent, reborn as Hotel Peter and Paul. The historic campus constitutes four buildings: the former school house, rectory, church and convent, each carefully restored and repurposed for new congregants. Each building has its own inspiration and narrative and the resulting restoration ensures that no two guest rooms are exactly alike.

Hotel's Favourite
Gorgeous boutique hotel. We stayed in the schoolhouse, 3rd floor. The room was decorated so stylishly with high ceilings, large bed and great shower. Just walking around and looking at the hotel was fun as every area is beautiful. Bar next door is great. Didn’t have time to eat in the restaurants but they looked good. Walking distance to Frenchman St. A bit far to walk to Bourbon or Royal but we loved the location.

Good room plenty of space. Very Nice furniture and décor. Nice bar( small inside if you can't go out on the patio due to weather) nice restaurant. No fee to park which was good and convenient available parking. Some basic Amenities missing are a closet (there is a small armoire which houses the tv and it has a 6 inch space for hanging clothes) ok if you are living out of your suitcase but not ok if you are attending a wedding. Only 2 hooks in the room for hanging anything (1 by the door and only 1 in the bathroom) the bathroom lighting is poor -- my wife actually had to use her small mirror and stand by the outside window for light. There is no safe ! There is no coffeemaker. No iron or ironing board (because there is no closet) There was a steamer which did help to remove wrinkles but its not the same as an iron. Again no problem if you are living out of your suitcase. All said I would stay here again, I will just be prepared knowing the missing amenities.

We're happy to hear you enjoyed your stay for the most part. Since your stay, we've added additional hooks, shelving, and a hanging rod in each guest bathroom. We also provide a safe at Reception where we can securely store any valuables, and offer coffee makers and Nespressos on request. We also offer an iron and ironing board on request, available 24/7. Just ask! All the love, Mac

A decent place to stay in New Orleans if you wish to be in the heart of the French Quarter. The hotel is a converted church/rectory and we stayed in the Mother Superior suite which was a decent size.only complaint about the room is that there are no black out curtains so if you are a light sleeper this may be a bit too bright for you.
They do not serve breakfast although you can buy a coffee and a cake in the Rectory. The staff are very helpful and arranged a taxi/tour for us with a very informative guide at a very reasonable price. Lots of jazz bars on the doorstep; a good spot to visit the Big Easy from

At first glance, on the website, the boutique hotel looked more polished and aesthetically pleasing than in person. Pros: The location is definitely great to be away from the very touristy section and a very close walk (10 mins) to the French Quarter. Good restaurant/bar on site (though it closes at 10 so even if you're a guest, be prepared to be turned away if near that time), fun/quirky vibe.
Cons: Overpriced, at $450 a night (schoolhouse loft room) the expectation is to have a really beautiful experience and unfortunately the staff, albeit kind and respectful, didn't quite seem seasoned enough to truly provide the experience warranting the cost. From the fixtures, quality of finishings/furnishings to the service, overall, missing the Southern hospitality that one would hope to experience. Definitely go if you find a deal on the per night but not worth more than $300 per night.

Hello guest, I am sorry to hear you had a lack luster experience. Our goal is to provide a high standard of hospitality but it being our first busy season since the pandemic, we still have a lot to work on with one of those being a tenured staff. We continue to try to raise the bar with our staff and our amenities though it is going to take a bit longer to see the results. We do hope you will come see us again in the future and see the work we have put in come to fruition. All the best, Ali- Assistant General Manager

I have looked forward to stying here for years, but we did not have the same experience that others have expressed in their reviews. While our room was clean and utterly charming, the covid protocols had everything else shut down. We were required to make a reservation to even visit the bar! Not even bottled water in our room. For a 4-star hotel there was very little customer service. As we passed back through New Orleans after a quick trip to Mississippi, we chose a different hotel. They were making the best of the covid precautions. We were warmly welcomed, bar was open to guests, robes were provided sealed in clear plastic, coffee and muffins delivered to our room in the morning. Until, New Orleans opens back up more, I would not recommend the Peter and Paul if you want to experience and enjoy the entire propery.

Susan, I'm so happy that we had a chance to discuss your stay. I, too, am disappointed that we did not meet the expectation we have set for ourselves to ensure that each and every guest has a stellar stay, regardless of current times. Though we have established a rigorous new protocol in response to COVID, including minimizing contact at check-in and stringent cleaning procedures, we are also excited to reintroduce aspects of the hotel that we had to rethink, like in-room snack trays, robes in each room (we were crafting beautiful custom robes before COVID, and will hopeful be able to continue the process going forward), and prioritizing seating for guests at The Elysian Bar now that they have more capacity. I reached out to you directly via email as well, and am so thankful that we had the chance to talk in person. Thank you for providing us with invaluable feedback about your experience. It only helps us improve and focus on the ways we can do better. All the best, Mac

This was our second stay because we loved our first visit there. Love the vibe, the staff, the location, the decor and the city. Just don’t stay on the ground floor! We were up all night because the guests above us came in late and their footsteps sounded like tap dancers above our heads. The management removed the cost of parking from our bill to compensate us, but $20 barely made a dent in a $300+ a night room that we left completely exhausted.

We treated ourselves to a weekend stay at Hotel Peter and Paul to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. A former New Orleans resident, he had loved the Elysian Bar for years and always wanted to come back and stay at the hotel.
When we first walked into our room, our jaws dropped with how calm, pretty, and pristine the room was. The linens were crisp, the furnishings just right, and even the soap smelled divine. It was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever stayed in, and I loved the little touches like the curated local guidebooks on the table to inform our stay.
From the pre-trip emails with suggestions for activities, dining, and shopping to excellent service from the staff during our stay, our customer service experience was terrific. Parking on-site was a breeze, too, and very reasonable at $10 per night.
Staying here made me feel like I have finally unlocked "grown-up traveler" status. I can't wait to explore their other hotels!

Amelia, We are delighted you and your boyfriend enjoyed Hotel Peter and Paul. Hearing about your experience and all of our "little touches" really moves us. We are especially proud you utilized our pre-arrival literature. We hoped you felt like an in-the-know local during your stay and the fact that you mentioned our recommendations is awesome. We are proud of our vibe as well as the vibe of our neighborhood businesses. Our hotel is part of a wonderful collection of properties that we would be honored to have you visit. The Siren in Detroit and The Dean in Providence are two that should be on your bucket list for the near future.

Hotel Peter and Paul is a gem! The hotel is perfectly situated two blocks from Frenchmen Street, which means it is far enough to get some rest and enjoy the quiet, but close enough to walk to great restaurants and live music spots. The hotel is restored beautifully and quaint. Our room has a tub in the main area and it was perfect for soaking after walking around the city all day. The staff were amazing, too. Everyone was so helpful and they gave us amazing food recommendations.

The Hotel Peter and Paul has a feeling of minimalism. It is quirky and had an edgy feel. Our room, in the schoolhouse, was very comfortable. Not much furniture but enough to make you feel at home. The staff was spectacular. They were so nice and friendly. They displayed all the elements of hospitality as they made us feel very welcome.

This is a beautifully restored property, where obvious care and attention to detail has been given to each space: a dramatic entrance and reception area, unique and comfortable rooms, charming community spaces such as the third floor lounge in the schoolhouse, and ample outdoor seating.
The location of the hotel is fantastic: completely walkable to the music clubs on Frenchmen Street and all the entertainment options in the French Quarter. But being in the Marigny, you are also a short walk away from the thought-provoking art at Studio Be, the myriad of dining options at St. Roch Market, enchanting finds at Crescent CIty Conjure, and the retro arcade games of Sea Cave.
The best aspect of this hotel is its staff members. Everyone from housekeeping to reception to maintainance was genuinely warm, friendly, and happy to answer questions/accomodate requests.
Our only suggestions would be to provide robes in the rooms (seems odd that a hotel of this caliber wouldn't provide them, expecially when the showers/tubs/bath products provided are so luxurious) and perhaps a deeper clean to the rooms between guests (when unpacking, I found a pair of used socks in the storage cabinet and the first night, I spilled some water behind the clawfoot tub. Not wanting to damage those gorgeous wooden floors, I attempted to wipe up the water with a towel that quickly darkened from a significant amount of dirt/grime).
Overall, the Hotel Peter and Paul is a hotel worth visiting.

Hello Guest- Thank you for such a thoughtful review. We love our lively neighborhood which is full of great places to eat and enjoy yourself. As for robes, you missed them by one week! We just received them and now offer gingham robes made for Hotel Peter and Paul. They will be here awaiting your next arrival. Thank you for bringing up the cleaning as well. I am sorry your room was not cleaned to a higher standard, but I have informed housekeeping about the areas behind the tubs and will make sure these areas are getting cleaned more thoroughly. We look forward to hosting you whenever you find yourself back in New Orleans! Best, Ali

Hello, and thanks for your interest in Hotel Peter & Paul. We're thrilled to know that you plan on joining us next month for such a special occassion. The 4 rooms located on the stage are School House Classics, though booking a School House Classic does not guarantee you will be placed in these 4 specifically, you're more than welcome to let us know in advance of your preference and we'll do our best to get it for you pending availability. Don't hesitate to reach out to us directly for any questions or more information, and we hope to see you here soon!
Best,
Mac
I felt safe throughout my weekend in NOLA. I am male and an urban dweller myself, so it's always in the back of my mind to stay alert when walking -- everywhere I go. The French Quarter and Marigny seemed a bit safer than where I live in Uptown Dallas. The people passing on the street generally were friendly and also helpful if you needed directions. They are accustomed to seeing tourists and seem to be appreciative that you are there supporting their city.
Hello,
The parking area is gated but you can access it through our Piazza which is not gated. We do have cameras and security as well.
I hope this was helpful. Please feel free to give us a call if you have more questions.
Thanks,
