Located in the heart of New Orleans, NOPSI Hotel garners praise for its proximity to iconic locales like the French Quarter and Bourbon Street, making it a hit with travelers keen on exploration. While guests commend the spacious rooms and the hotel's stylish atmosphere, some have voiced concerns over cleanliness and maintenance inconsistencies. The rooftop pool and bar are highlights, although the enjoyment is sometimes dampened by unexpected fees that guests feel detract from the hotel's value. Hospitality is generally well-regarded, with staff members receiving accolades for their service, despite occasional lapses.

I stayed at the NOPSI hotel this past weekend with a few friends and we had a ball! The hotel has a very fresh and modern vibe to it that can be sensed as soon as you step into the lobby. The quiet, cozy rooms possessed an understated elegance, and the restaurant service was exceptional. Mr. Reggie made us the best pineapple mimosas for brunch and all the food we ordered tasted spectacular. I had this mouth watering corn meal crusted drum with étouffée sauce over rice pilaf and shared some savory shrimp and grits and crispy cauliflower pakoras, which my whole table quickly devoured. We even got to meet the chef, Mr. Arthur, who was so wonderful and incredibly accommodating to my friend who is sensitive to wheat. He made special adjustments to her dishes, so she was able to eat and enjoy just about everything that we did. Plan to lodge here again in March for an upcoming wedding!

I stayed at Nopsi for two nights in December 2021 in a deluxe suite room.

I tried to check in a few hours early to the hotel but unfortunately my room wasn't available yet, however my luggage was stored and the check in staff did offer to text me as soon as the room was ready. When I came back later in the evening I picked up my luggage and was also given four drinks vouchers for the hotel bar. I believe these might be offered to all guests of the hotel but it was appreciated considering how expensive lobby bars tend to be.

The room itself is huge with a living area with sofa and TV. The bathroom that separates the living area from the bedroom was also of a very good size, although there is no bathtub. The bed was king size and comfortable with a number of pillows. Unfortunately my room did not have much of a view.

I could hear a bit of noise from other rooms and the headboard of the bed would rattle when a neighbouring room slammed their door shut. Disappointing that the soundproofing isn't great considering the size of the hotel.

Everything else about the room is great though, theres a mini fridge and a robe available. It had everything I needed in terms of amenities.

The location is also good, you're in the french quarter and a 5-10 minute walk from Canal street and Bourbon st.

I had breakfast at the dining area next to the lobby 'Public Service'. The food was average and overpriced. My first sever was very good however my second server took a while to bring me the cheque and thought id ordered something that I hadn't. There seemed to have been some confusion when they changed shifts.

I also used my drinks tokens at 'Public Service' on two separate occasions. On the first visit it took 15 minutes for my drink to come and I had to remind another bartender that I had already placed an order. The second visit was much better and the staff were more attentive.

Overall i enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was huge and it's well located. I would stay again however I would probably try another hotel in the French Quarter on my next visit to New Orleans due to the number of hotel options available.

Hello Ainsley B and thank you for the review. Our suites are very spacious and we get a lot if comments about the layout of the bedroom and bathroom especially. We typically do not get any noise issues between the rooms so we will investigate that further to see if it is a particular room we can adjust. We will also address the consistency of our Public Service food and service. Our expectations are much higher than what you describe and we cannot have off days. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. You are correct that there are a lot of hotel options in New Orleans and we appreciate you staying with us. We do hope you stay and/or stop by during your next visit to NOLA so we can earn that 5th star. Safe travels. -JQ

First of all the outside was nothing compared to the inside. This hotel is gorgeous. Lobby is clean and comfortable . Smells amazing! Also has a patio entrance from the lobby that leads to outside. Restaurant onsite is very convenient but wished that the breakfast would be included but still affordable and delicious. Coffee is free and unlimited on mornings then lemon water for the afternoon. Loved that! Bar that open until late , can also take the drinks to go. Rooftop pool at night is breathtaking and very relaxing with bar service available as well. The room was so spacious and comfortable . Housekeeping came everyday to make the bed and replace towels and toiletries , that was nice. The front desk is really helpful with giving directions if you want to see the area, everything walking distance and also street cars are there for faster travel if desired. This hotel is worth it!!!

I just returned last night from my stay at the incredible NOPSI Hotel. The experience we had was first rate on every level. Everything from the friendly check-in with Kendrick to the helpfulness of the concierge Daisy we felt as if we were with old friends for our entire stay. Our room was gorgeous (a suite) and had a nice view as well. We opted to have a meal or two at the the on-site restaurant and it was delicious. The entire hotel was spotless and included a roof-top pool and bar to enjoy when the weather permitted. I cannot wait to return to the wonderful City of New Orleans and to this special place which I have now discovered!

My husband and I chose NOPSI as our hotel for our 2022 honeymoon in New Orleans. The location was great: a 5 minute walk to canal street and the St. Charles streetcar, about 20 minutes from Jackson Square. The lobby and common areas of the hotel are beautifully appointed with generous seating. It was very quiet at night, and the elevators on all floors are set back away from guest rooms so you don't hear any foot traffic late at night. We booked a deluxe corner suite for the week, and also stayed in one of the regular king rooms for our first night. Both rooms are great! The regular king was large for a NOLA hotel room, clean, and very comfortable. Our suite was beautiful with a very spacious bathroom (including a tub!). Aside from the bathtub , mini-fridge, and the square footage, there was not much difference between the regular king and the suite, which I appreciate. It's always nice when hotels make their affordable rooms just as luxurious as the suites. The staff here really made our stay great. Housekeeping came daily and did a wonderful job. The front desk was responsive to our requests/questions, and always had more bottled water on the ready! Kevin and Rita in the lobby were particularly helpful. Kevin assisted us with our bags at check-in and check-out, was very friendly throughout our stay, and always ready with recommendations. Rita confirmed my reservation details prior to our arrival, and had a bottle of sparking wine waiting for us in our suite. All in all, it was an incredible trip. We'd most definitely stay again!

This is a lovely hotel located in a very convenient area. The rooftop pool is great as are the rooms and complimentary drinks. The one major issue with this place is the internet speed. Nopsi provides a laughable 3mpbs complimentary internet connection for guests, which is slower than your phone was back in 2016. If you actually plan on using the real internet however, you have to pay an additional $15 a day in addition to the resort fee they already charge you. This was a business trip for me and making zoom calls or even streaming content in my room was a no go so I would consider that before booking.

Hello Eric B and thank you for the review. Glad to see that you overall enjoyed your stay. The rooftop is a signature spot and I agree it is a great experience. I apologize you had the internet issues you did. Our speeds are much higher than what you had. But we were upgrading our TV provider's programming (and in turn, our internet connectivity) and speeds were affected. I am confident that the next time you stay, you will see the difference. We hope to host you soon and earn that 5th star. Safe travels. -JQ

We enjoyed the central location, the large rooms, the unique decor, and a great cocktail class on a Wednesday night. On top, there is this extra mile experience, when returning from my morning run for instance, one of the friendly staff members, Kevin, would actually open the door for me, and ask whether I wanted some water (cold or room temperature he even asked), which I, obviously, highly appreciated. Also great was the coffee and tea selection in the morning. Downside for me was the breakfast, USD 12 for a slice of toast with some avocado on it, USD 8 for an 3 inch an 2 oz Andouille sausage, that is a bit steep for me. Also the waiting times for a meal like a breakfast is too long for me (personally). I want to start off into the day, and not spend 20 minutes waiting. I definitely would come back :-)

When I was a student at Tulane University in the late 60s, NOPSI operated the buses and trolleys. It wasn't a hotelier. Now that it has transformed its downtown HQ into a hotel, its also into the hotel business in a fabulous way. The repurposed HQ building is an extremely pleasant hotel three blocks from Canal Street, a block from the eastbound St. Charles St. trolley and within walking distance of the French Quarter. The hotel is clean, modern and well appointed all at a very reasonable fare. My wife and I were there in late July. The hotel was an oasis of luxury. The staff were exceptional. We were very pleased and will return.

Great location, adjacent with a short walk to the French Quarter. Delicious Vietnamese restaurant across the street with the best Pho, including that in Hanoi!

Sleep hygene is a consideration. People are often sleep-deprived including during travel. The quiet and secluded interior rooms lack a view but gain a very quiet place to sleep. The bed was very comfortable. The room was large, and the bathroom was super clean.

The lobby is dramatic with high ceilings, and the staff makes you remember to be safe in the Covid-19 pandemic. Stay here and go for a walk around New Orleans, even in inclement weather.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our 3 night stay at NOPSI. The room was cool and quiet, thermostat set to cool as we arrived and stayed that way throughout our time there. The room and bathroom were both incredibly spacious, the in-room WiFi quick and easy to connect to, the bed comfortable and makeup vanity was a very welcome, comfortable place for me to get ready for the day.

The only slight disappointment we had was breakfast, though we did understand the precaution: we pre-ordered our breakfast very conveniently and quickly using the QR code provided in our room. Everything arrived timely and was still warm and delicious. However, I was expecting more of a full-service experience as we were charged an extra service percentage on top of tip and tax, and were hopign for more than just the food dropped off in neat containers at our door by staff. Other than that we had a great experience.

Two shout outs during our stay: first one is to Paul, oru bartender at Henry's Gin Bar, and the second to our bellman. I don't remember his name but he was extremely helpful, and after a quick, easy conversation with him, he shared he had just started and wanted to do a good job. You've got this, my man! Only good things for you if you work this hard going foward!

Hello olyviaelliot, It was such a pleasure to host you and your husband for your 3 night get away at NOPSI! I am so thankful to learn that you enjoyed your room and that Paul at Henry's Gin Bar made such a great impression. In terms of the In Room Dining experience you described, this style of service started during the pandemic, but we totally agree with you in that it lacks the upscale feel of traditional room service that our guest saw prior to 2020. We are in the process of going back towards traditional In Room Dining, with china, silverware, and our server brining it directly into your room. This will begin in September. Thanks again for the incredible review and all of your feedback. We truly look forward to welcoming you again! Warm Regards, Kenny
