Preface: I've been to New Orleans 5 times. This is the first time for business. This is the worst hotel I've stayed in. It is acceptable but by not a hotel you want to relax in during down time. Cons: smallest rooms I've seen with only basic amenities (no safe, fridge, or water) Most rooms do not have a window...

Just a block or so away from Bourbon Street and a few from the riverfront. Perfect location and comfortable for exploring the French Quarter. I can not speak highly enough of Ms. Blakes at the front desk. I arrived early on a business trip and she made sure I was comfortable until a room was ready and provided a great...

We had Tequisha at the front desk tell us about LUKE the restaurant by John Besh, OMG, we went twice! She was really a great front desk person for us to talk to daily! The location was fantastic & we enjoyed the downstairs lobby area. We really utilized the area with our family & all employees were fantastic! We will...

Agree with previous writer on excellent customer service!! I voiced a concern with my room to the night manager, Eddie and he was patient in listening to my concern, came up with a resolution and accommodated me as best as possible. The staff seems empowered to make the stay comfortable. Kudos to management!! Pleasant spot and, considering street cars and...

Stayed one night with my husband and kids. Appreciated the location, easy to walk to the French quarter, aquarium, etc. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Our room was older and just felt kind of dirty. Beds weren't very comfortable and the fan ran all night. I guess I expected a little nicer quality for the brand and price, however...

We were attending a conference for my wife's business. I was left to explore New Orleans and scout things to do while she worked. We then stayed a couple days more for both of us to play tourist. Overall a delight for us. Initially it was somewhat difficult to find a room near the French Quarter and when we arrived,...

Our double room faced St. Charles with a balcony and was absolutely fantastic as the cable cars made their way towards the Garden District. The staff was exceptional at the front desk and the restaurant in the lobby, particularly Carlene. She assisted with an early check-in and later check-out and made sure our stay was as enjoyable as possible. Definitely...

PROS: Location, Le Bistro, Internet access at no extra charge; management response to problem; ease of check-in using mobile app. CONS: Bathroom not properly cleaned on arrival, but handled quickly when reported. Noise from atrium or street car. Location of room matters when it comes to noise. Overall: 9/10. Would stay here again.

I have been commuting to New Orleans to work on a consulting project almost every week since last August. For about 15 weeks in the last 5 months, I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel New Orleans Downtown Near the French Quarter. Other than having the world’s longest hotel name, their claim to fame is being close by nearly...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
