This place was awesome. Karen was very knowledgeable about her adopted city and gave us invaluable tips about sightseeing. It was very luxurious and very clean. The continental breakfast provided had an excellent assortment. It was within walking distance of all the major attractions and everyone was helpful and friendly. My husband and I cannot say enough good things about...

The Dauphine House and it's owner Karen Jefferies are exactly what every BnB should be like and what every hostess or host who owns and runs a sucessful BnB should be like. We spent four nights there last week and it was by far, THE best BnB we've ever stayed at in terms of hospitality and comfort (and we've stayed...

The bed and breakfast is in an excellent location It is an easy walk to the French Quarter and the River Front street car. Since it is just outside the quarter, you will be able to sleep at...

Just returned from 8 nights stay at a wonderful B&B just steps outside of the French quarter. Karen, the owner, is the most wonderful hostess. She made us feel right at home, catered to our every need, kept us in fresh towels, linens etc all week. She constantly refilled our basket of fresh pastries and fruits, and even stocked the...

This was my second stay at the Dauphine House and, once again, it was a wonderful experience. Karen was the best hostess. I stayed in the center room this time and it is just as wonderful as the back room. I was on another research trip and was stuck in my room for two straight days trying to finish my...

We came to New Orleans to have some fun and support the economy. Who knew they have a gazillion football bowls and places fill up, like the Omni which I really like. Searched trip advisor and found this place - and viola an opening! Location is ideal, close to the action but not too loud or spoiled by drunken revelers....

We stayed at the Dauphine house to watch a concert at The House of Blues. The house is only a 20 minute walk from HOB and right around the corner from Bourbon street. The room was nice and clean, Karen gave us a free parking pass to park in the street, and the price was very low. The owner Karen...

I could not believe that a place like this, so close to the Quarter; could be so affordable. Our host Karen was more like a tour guide. She had prepared recomendations for restaurants, tours and anything else we might want. The room was immaculate and there was always fruit, pasteries, coffee, tea and even a half gallon of orange juice...

Located on the edge of the French Quarter, it is ideally placed to explore most of central New Orleans. We stayed in the middle room, which is full of character, had great additions such as sun cream, and with the air conditioning unit heard no noise from the neighbourhood (and we're light sleepers!). I would recommend this to everyone; great...

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
