Free hot breakfast, free parking, lower "Garden District" so walking distance to everything! A friend and his wife suggested we stay here and we will be eternally grateful for a new found jewel in NOLA. Close to the WWII museum, close to the Trolley (which is always crowded), close to food and the French quarter. There is a vegan restaurant...

Nothing bad to say. Room was clean and spacious, bed was comfortable, staff was friendly, breakfast was great, location was great. We lived in New Orleans for a while, so we kind of have a feel for tourist traps and genuine New Orleans experiences - and this B&B was wonderful. We would definitely stay here again - and probably will...

A great little place with big ambitions. We were generously upgraded to wonderful rooms beautifully decorated in an antique style. The important things were all taken care of - clean room, comfortable bed, good shower. The breakfast room was like sitting in a converted drawing room and being waited on by an old friend. The hotel is handy to French...

My friend and I recently stayed at Creole Gardens and couldn't be happier with the experience. Family owned, this motel has a friendly, welcoming staff who cook up an incredibly delicious breakfast included in the rate! The service and staff in the kitchen are awesome and so nice! The buildings are gorgeous especially the main house, decorated in stunning and...

Fantastic! This was our first visit to New Orleans. We booked a room at Creole Gardens after reading many of the reviews people had posted. One review said that the decor was dated, we thought it added to our delightful experience. We arrived after hours and they made getting to our room easy and parking was right next door with...

My husband and I stayed here again this year, and were upgraded (at no add'l cost) to the 3rd floor penthouse. What a great room! It's spacious, bright, clean, comfortable, and has its own private deck. The large bathroom was very well stocked with soaps, shampoos/conditioners, and loads of towels. The shower has great pressure and the hot water never...

We loved our stay, people warm & friendly, good ideas for restaurants and places to visit, good breakfast with eggs and grits. Private colorful garden area to sit in and enjoy. Beautiful area for walking (towards garden district), easy to get downtown on cheap and convenient trolley, stop one block away. Excellent restaurants close by (check out Arepas - so...

If we visit New Orleans again we will stay here, such a good B&B. We stayed in room 12, good size with a nice bathroom and really comfy bed. The breakfast was good and all staff were friendly. It's about a 20 minute walk to the French Quarter or you can easily jump on a street car. There is a...

Really happy with every aspect of our stay. We were upgraded to a King-bed room in the mansion for free. Service was very friendly and helpful - gave great recommendations for restaurants in the area, and other tourist questions. Breakfast buffet and cooked-to-order was all good. Room was amazing and huge - comfortable bed and pillows, great bathroom, etc. Free...

This may be my sixth or seventh time staying at Creole Gardens and each time I arrive, it feels immediately like my very colorful home away from home. Funky, eccentric, fun, bright with a definite artsy/vintage vibe, Creole Gardens offers a true authentic NOLA experience. It's not over-the-top fancy or stuffy, so if you're looking for that, keep looking. Its...

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
