Nice hotel, true New Orleans style. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great location within walking distance of everything. When we arrived, our room had been upgraded. We had a huge private balcony overlooking Frenchmen St.

The Frenchman Hotel has been lovingly restored and the courtyard is truly gorgeous. As is typical with these historic properties, the rooms are pretty tiny. However, we didn't go there to spend all day in the room. I love the neighborhood here and I much prefer to stay on this side of Esplanade than on the French Quarter side. If...

Aflossiegirl, Thank you so much for writing. We do so appreciate your feedback. Yes the carriage way is narrow as most are but we do have lot spaces at the parking lot behind the hotel, for future reference. Thank you again and do come see soon.

1. The door to the hotel was locked. When I tried to get in, the girl behind the desk kept insisting I had the wrong hotel, and they had no more check ins that night. I was finally able to get her to let me in and prove I had a reservation. They had no elevator so I was dragging...

Seth, We don't have keys for our Front Door as we use key codes to ensure security for our guests. As you've not stated when you stayed you should know that all of the door and locks have been changed in the last couple of months. A friend of ours, who's very familiar with the gems of New Orleans, recommended this place and we were not let down. Mike ,the front desk concierge, was knowledgeable of the area as well as friendly and accommodating. The hotel is full of its own gems as well. Huge private patio for guests. Safe grounds protected by gated entries. A...

Charming old hotel located on the edge of the French Quarter at Decatur. Very helpful and friendly staff and very good value. Most rooms surround a brick courtyard. This being New Orleans management fels it neessary to notifie guests that swimsuits are required in the pool and hot tub in thr courtyard.

Management response:

Andrew, Thank you so much for writing and yes we do feel the need inform guests as some simply don't understand why running around naked isn't appropriate in a 'non-clothing optional' hotel. Odd that no? Sounds as though you enjoyed the Marigny, come back to see us soon.

Steps away from all of the live music you can stand, and a tasty assortment of New Orleans fare. A short walk takes you to the hustle & bustle of The Quarter, the artists of Jackson Square and the unforgettable experience of Cafe du Monde. The Garden District and other local hotspots are a short ride away.

I've spent many a night in the Quarter but this trip was different. I ventured across Esplanade into the Quarter only once during my 3 days/2 nights this trip, and that was only for lunch one day, after a walk through the French Market, an obligatory visit to Dutch Alley, a look at the water (where the temperature dropped 20...

Excellent place to stay. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean and comfortable. Will recommend to friends and family. Street side is noisy, but not overly so. Exactly as it appears on website. No coffee pot in rooms.

Great place to stay, close enough to walk to French Market, restaurants, bars, etc. The only issue we had was with the temp of the water in the shower, we were in an upstairs suite and it took forever for the water to get warm, never hot. Beds were very comfortable and the staff very friendly. Would definitely stay there...

“I was warned to request a room NOT facing Frenchmen. I did not listen. It is very noisy but the sleeping pills fixed that. There are two suites in this hotel; one in our party had one suite and it was nice but too big for just the two of us who stayed in a room with two double beds. The suite had two balconys (one for each bedroom) facing Frenchmen and it was a treat to sit on the balcony.”
