We stayed in the Mississippi suite for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The bar downstairs is really nice and the street is in a great location - right near the French Quarter and Frenchman St.

Went for the weekend with my husband. Place was beautiful and clean. Drink tokens on the pillow. Watched the Saints/Denver game in the bar. Everyone was very nice and threw flags at the TV. Walking distance to the French Quarter and Frenchman Street. Would definitely...More

Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining
destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.

Royal St. Inn is 2-4 blocks from the Quarter, in a neighborhood like Lakeview or Ravenswood, so you have nothing to fear. But to be honest, there's no reason to go there. It's all t-shirt shops, Wrigleyville-esque douche bars, and vommit on the sidewalks from the patrons thereof. Skip it. The hotel leaves a list of what's good in the area, go with that. Or ask the staff - they're awesome! I guarantee you'll have a better time in NOLA if you do that.
