We arrived at the hotel in the evening after our first New Orleans meal of shrimp and oyster Po boys. Our checkin went smoothly and the "French Gentleman" as he referred to himself was very professional and courteous, Thank you. The hotel is located two blocks from Canal St. and once there you are one block from Bourbon. St. Charles...

We stayed during the Saints vs Falcons and LSU vs Florida game so it was VERY packed in NOLA. This hotel is within walking distance to Bourbon St and everything else. We got there very early and checked our bags. The lady at the counter called us within 2 hours letting us know our rooms were ready, like she said...

A friend recommended this hotel and I'm glad I took his advice. Perfectly located just outside of the madness of the French Quarter but yet walking distance. All of the staff couldn't have been more helpful and courteous especially Ashley H. at the reception desk. I enjoyed a large king size room with balcony. Very comfortable and clean. My one...

A very nice and clean hotel. Only 4 blocks to Bourbon St and all the fun. We stayed on the 10th floor and street noise was minimal. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Will stay there again next time we go.

As part of my 50th birthday and our 24th Wedding anniversary, I booked the Intercontinental in New Orleans. This was the perfect place for a mini vacation my husband and I have been planning for years. I stayed here for a work conference. The room was nicely appointed. The bed was comfy and the hotel was nice. The staff was nice any time I had to interact with them. Convenient location. We visited New Orleans for a long weekend and wanted a hotel that was close to the French Quarter but not in the middle of it. The hotel itself is very nice, living up to the Intercontinental brand. We only stayed here for one night but everything was OK. Very nice beds and big room. We had a room with view over the courtyard so no noises. Parking is very expensive in New Orleans. We didn't use the valet. Instead we parked in the garage across the street. 30 USD for 24 hours.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
