While this hotel is one to be appreciated from an esthetic perspective, it's not one that warrants a true 5* rating from me. It's hard to get past the initial greeting from the doorman (not valet) who was actually leaning against the wall and watched as I struggled with my bags trying to open the door for myself. Not a... They have the perfect 2 room suite to accomodate a family of 5 very comfortably without spending too much. The hotel is great, location is in the heart of everything, have stayed there twice now because of the unique suite.

Great location , helpful staff, good sleeping conditions, great bars, cafe, restaurant and even gift shop on premises. We stayed here during a mandatory water boiling period and the hotel was excellent about serving bottled water constantly.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
