Older, well maintained and very comfortable hotel in the French Quarter. Very convenient location on one of the more quiet streets in the area. Reasonably priced with breakfast included. Extremely friendly front desk staff and very accommodating personnel throughout. Very private, quiet pool area and relaxing cocktail lounge.

First time staying at this hotel. We have stayed at several hotels in the quarter and wanted to try a new one. Also wanted a balcony this time. We pre-paid for 2 nights and knew that parking would cost an additional 36 a day so we were prepared at check out to be charged 72 but we were charged 185.94...

I went down to New Orleans for a girls weekend over Halloween. Its a busy time so hotels rooms were expensive. We found a decent priced room at the Dauphine Orleans. I would say its a standard 3 star. Hotel was clean. The room was ok. Nothing fancy. The continental breakfast was bad. Would not recommend. The only good thing...

Walking distance to all the hot spots in the Quarter. A short inexpensive cab ride from Frenchman St. where all the GOOD local musicians play & don't miss a meal at Adolfo's.( but, that's another review). The Dauphine has a very helpful & friendly staff all the way down the line. The mattress on the Calif. King size bed was...

My wife and I stayed at the Dauphine Orleans for two nights during a visit to NO. The staff was very courteous and helpful. They made several good recommendations regarding restaurants and night clubs. We stayed in a carriage house room and while it was not as nice as the pictures, it had a very comfortable bed and it was...

The location is perfect. Close enough to everything but still quiet and relaxing. The staff are beyond friendly. Stephanie at the front desk was so helpful, recommending tours and things to see and do. The rooms are nice as well. Breakfast is included and delicious. You also get a free drink with you arrival at their bar. The beds were...

Hotel was just okay. Room stayed hot and humid. Had to request a fan. Cleanliness could have been much better. Desk person was professional, but lacked personality and offering assistance. From what I understand they were very new. Parking lot and maintenance attendants were very personable, friendly and helpful. A cigarette receptacle is needed along with trash can outside the...

The service that we received was very attentive from the time we checked in until we left. The front desk staff was very knowledgeable about the hotel, surroundings and how to get there from the hotel. Our room had a French Door set that opened up so you could see out. While the hotel garage looks like most garages, from...

Great location - close to things but not right on Bourbon street, which I think is a good thing. Staff were consistently helpful and polite, and looked like they were happy to answer whatever question we asked. Hotel breakfast was a good start to the day, and I enjoyed feeling like I was part of an old New Orleans place,...

Stayed at the Dauphine for three nights and it was a good experience overall. The hotel itself is well kept and has its own charm. It's conveniently located in the french quarter and an easy walk to most things in the quarter. We were unhappy with the first room we were given, having requested a balcony but having a view...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
