We had a very nice stay with Bill Hirsch and his Atwood home. He was a butler at Camp David for 4 years under the Nixon administration. He had some nice stories. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

If you are looking for a quiet, private, comfortable B&B, stop looking because this is it. From the moment we arrived we enjoyed our stay. The bed was super comfortable. A firm bed with a thick pillow top. Extra blanket and pillows in the closet if we needed. We had a nice TV but never turned it on. We spent... More

We arrived promptly at 4:00 P.M. as when I reserved a room the host clearly told me check in was between 4-6. However I have never been greeted so coldly at a B n B before. The room was lovely but there was no explanation beyond breakfast is at 9:00, look on the card for how to get wifi.

I brought my husband here for a birthday surprise. It's a beautiful, well cared for home in the historic area of Chillicothe. Our room was large and very clean with the most comfortable bed I think I have ever slept in. The B&B was very quiet and relaxing. Make sure you bring your own toiletries and a blow dryer, if... I booked this B&B from an article in the paper. We were greeted at the door by Bill and settled into our room. The room. the Presidents Room, ( the president never stayed here ), was comfortable with everything we would need...Large and clean. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The furnishing in the room were antiques...i.e the... More

This beautiful Greek Revival, was more than what we had hoped. Perfect with historic details. Lots of shops to explore while in town. Can't wait to stay again. Breakfast was excellent and the host, informative and gracious. Don't miss an opportunity to stay!

We booked two nights at the Atwood House after reading the interesting history and good reviews online. It’s located on historic Paint Street that runs from the Yoctangee Park on the north to Paint Creek (and the Glatfelter Paper mill) on the south. One street over is a row of historic homes featured in a walking tour and the county... More

Our third stay at the Atwood House was absolutely splendid! We have traveled the country and have stayed in many fine hotels and Inns and none can compare to the five-star experience Mr. Hirsch has created at this B&B. The Atwood House is truly a gem nestled in the most interesting and historical portion of Chillicothe. If you have an... More

Bill Hirsch, the owner of this bed and breakfast, understands what it means to welcome people to a home that is, in the quality of its historic architecture and the distinction of its serenely furnished rooms, a place of grace and comfort. Add to the ambiance, the pleasures of his home-cooked breakfasts - which may include Bill's own tomatoes, apple... More
