We really enjoyed our stay here. It's a very nice hotel run by some very nice and friendly staff. The hotel and rooms are very clean and comfortable. The food at the buffet was amazing along with the wood fire pizza. The only negative would be that there is no wifi in the rooms and only in the lobby. Also...

We had 2 nights here in a deluxe room which was huge. We did need the heater on in the evenings. The food in the Magnolia restaurant was superb as was the afternoon tea. We did find the public rooms a bit cold as the front door was always open which created a terrible draught as it was windy.

Maybe grand from the outside but disappointing once inside. The room I was given had a smell of damp, room however was clean and tidy. No a/c but had a heater. Grounds were kept very nice and tidy. Meals were also very good with a large selection to suit every ones taste. Because of the type of building the rooms...

After arriving for High Tea (something we've done at many great hotels around the world) we were told to, "Sit over there", by an indifferent manager. After waiting fifteen minutes in vain for service we decided to walk into town, which proved far more successful when we found a local bakery and tea shop. We had planned to have breakfast...

Beautiful colonial hotel, only a short walk to town. Food is great and the high tea is good value. Good selection of food at breakfast. Public areas are lovely and the grounds are beautiful. Only complaint about the room was the lack of air conditioning. The bed and bathroom were good. Service in the restaurant a little patchy as we...

We spent two nights here and absolutely loved the old English country charm. The property is ancient, i.e., it was built in 1800s by the then Governor of the region. Room was quite spacious, but you can easily hear the noises from the corridor. The wooden floor creaks as you walk in certain locations. Main restaurant offered delicious breakfast with...

Sorry a beautiful looking hotel but when you enter the hotel it is quite obvious it needs work and the rooms in particular need work to upgrade. Bathrooms in particular have a bad water smell. Shower requires upgrading. Drinks prices are way to expensive same bottle of wine £12 dearer than other Sri Lankan prices. Saw manager over these prices...

This is a lovely hotel set in large well manicured grounds with staff and management that seem to have an eye for the attention to detail. We did not stay at this hotel but were fortunate enough to be invited to their New Years Eve Dinner and Dance WOW. If you have read some of my previous posts you will...
