We were going to stay here but decided not to as when we arrived there was a building site next door with a pilling rig right next to the hotel. So, we decided to just stop for lunch. First of all they only did English or Chinese, no Sri Lankan food, that’s if you could read the menu which was...

Very quiet when my wife, 4 yo son & I stayed for 2 nights recently, which was a shame because the character of the place. Although we had a nice room incl. authentic squeaky floorboards, the room looks out onto the main road, Noise is more of a problem on the side of the entrance as a new building is...

The look of the hotel is really quaint and old English style but its website it definitely misleading. The small lawn looks like a sprawling one on the website and the hotel looks much bigger on the website too. Since its a very old property lacks basic amenities like a tea maker in the room, enough plug points etc. The...

Building is extraordinary: I really felt like I was in an old manor in the English countryside. Some will find it obsolete, some others will find it charming, that's just a matter of taste. What is not a matter of taste, though, is the terrible service offered by the staff: there's a pub, but no draft beer, you have to...

It was my wife's birthday, so I thought to take her and my kids for a dinner. The first impression at the door was poor. The guy with a red shirt did no know to welcome or what to say, We had to find our way to the restaurant, the manager or the receptionist was missing. The food was not...

This hotel was a tea companies office in 1948 according to the pictures on the wall. Beautiful surrounding English gardens are immaculately kept. Old colonial charm and dedicated staff give their best. However. . . Although modestly priced this offering just misses the mark. Investment is desperately required. Sadly unchanged for generations it it looks and smells like my grandmother's!...

Booked two rooms for a one night stay with my family (4 adults and 1 child) The staff was polite and helpful with pre-bookings (we were even given a 10% discount for both rooms) The hotel is not too big but it's quaint, warmly furnished and the gardens are wonderfully maintained. The atmosphere here is very comfortable. Service is good,...

I know that Nuwara Eliya is a very touristic place but what I got for 70!! USD (for Sri Lankan circumstances half of a monthly salary) was horrible. Outside: The hotel looks nice at a first glance. Very European / British. Construction site is close by, start at 8am, stop at 8pm. Reception: People seems to be friendly but after...
