There is nothing wrong with Alila Manggis. In fact it is a very nice place, but for us lacked the personal touch that would have made it excellent. Alila is the last of 5 resorts we stayed at during our Bali trip and it was also the largest with approx. 50 rooms, which may explain the difference. Room, location, restaurant...

This is the first time I have ever written a review on one of our holidays but felt compelled to do so as it was one of the most relaxing holidays we've been on. The staff and management could not do enough to ensure our stay was everything we would want it to be and took the time to use...

We stopped in Bali (our second time here) to pick up a cruise through Indonesia, and returned to our favorite hotel on the island, the Alila Manggis. The east of Bali is less touristic and more traditional than the better-known areas, and it is really that sense of peace and isolation which attracted us back. The hotel is lovely, the...

Quiet, relaxing, the sea was close by but the beach is not really for walking. Good spa, very helpful staff. The hotel had messed up our reservation but compensated with two free dinners and spas - which was really great. Superior rooms are downstairs ( a little bit tired) and straight onto the lawn to the pool; upstairs are the...

We chose to start holiday in east bali, manggis, alila. Peaceful place to stay in. Spa was great. Beach is not a beach to swim or walk...as you probably know from reading, however the sound of waves in room, spa and over breakfast creates the ambience too... Pool is ok too and all in all good start to our first bali...

Stayed at the Alilla Manggis from Sept 18th till Sept 20th as a part of a Bali tour. Check-in went spotless and quick. Hotel is located close to the sea, has a small beach( not really usable as beach). It is a very quiet location, excellent for relaxing, the sound of the sea/waves is great. Room was just great, all the amenities...

The common spaces in the resort are well maintained and really quite lovely, from the lobby to the dining area. The room was comfortable, we enjoyed the balcony sit out. We took advantage of the free bicycles to explore Candidasa and surrounding areas which was quite nice. The resort itself though is quite isolated, and as such, it was a...

Bali's best kept secret is the tagline for Alila Manggis and truer words cannot be spoken about this amazing resort. After a long drive through Bali's narrow and scooter packed roads we arrived at Alila Manggis, beside the gentle sea breeze and the soothing silence of the night we were welcomed by the front (open air) office staff with a...

We absolutely love this hotel in East Bali! We just keep going back and would not consider going to Bali without staying here, even for a short time. We have just returned from Bali today and i feel compelled to mention this hotel on Trip Advisor. Our Alila experience began about 17 years ago (then called The Serai) when my...
