Probably a bit of a biased review because I was very lucky to have the entire place to myself for 2 days with no other guests. There are only 4 rooms at this resort and it is just stunning. The staff were extremely attentive; with special mention for Kingston who was polite, approachable and down to earth and Babu the resident chef who put on an excellent spread, especially at breakfast time - even if it was just for one person! The added extras of complimentary kayaking and free bicycle hire made this a truly wonderful stay and they can arrange houseboats to pick you up from the resort as it's beachside. Would thoroughly recommend this peaceful and tranquil place off the beaten track!

I recommed that think 10times before u book this hotel as management he is not trust worth as well the staff...... i had booked hotel through make my trip here for my honeymoon and due to reason for coronavirus spreaded in kerela was concern not to go kerela and had asked make my trip to cancel and first they spoke to hotel and Mr mathews confirmed to cancel with full refund but when asked to cancel hotel managment was damm rude and denied to cancel and asked not to call back and not to even drop mail for cancellation..... it was a serious concern of coronavirus which was not in allepy but could not take a risk for life as it spreads through even getting in contact of any small thing,,,, so will never recommed this property as spending money to a small hotel is worth where the staff should be more helpful compared to such rude and irresponsible who cant stay on there words for there clients.

This is one of the best venues we've been to by the backwater lakes in Alappuzha. This is a high-end hotel with all the trimmings. A place to come and relax with breathtaking view of the lake and it's infinity pool which flows onto the lake. It boasts four bedrooms with all modern comforts. The owner, to the manager to the staff and of course the chef all making this stay an absolute dream. This place is very remote so it's a great place to run away and relax. It has a lovely restaurant with pool table and carrom board upstairs to entertain yourself though with the lovely pool and garden to sunbathe it's an extra. We enquired about a boat trip and the manger kindly arranged a backwater house boat which came to the hotel and the next day dropped us right back by the pool. On another occasion the owner had arranged a two piece guitar band to play one evening whilst we ate outside our room in the garden. Very friendly and most gracious people. A big thank you to everyone at the Rain.

The Rain is in a stunningly beautiful and peaceful location. Food cooked by the loveable chef Babul was absolutely delicious - breakfasts a treat and suppers (reasonably priced) brought to a table by the lake. Great staff - Kingston should go far - always willing to help and so cheerful. I cannot fault The Rain and would leap at a chance to go back.
