The hotel rooms are very dark with no proper windows. There are no decent communal areas to sit in. Sadly the website led us to believe that there would be plenty of activities provided by the hotel and we booked to stay for 5 nights. This was far too long as there is not really much provided by the hotel...

Firstly the two staff here are superb : the gentlemanly manager with whom it was a pleasure to chat and the friendly smiling man who served the meals and looked after the bags. Secondly, the old house is charming, with dark wood rooms and old family photos adorning the hallway walls. However: right in front of the house is the...

We had heard a lot about Spice Routes and decided to spend a day in Pepper, a 2 bedroom houseboat. This was our second cruise in backwaters. Good things first - Courteous and welcoming staff, Nice, large sitting area, decent bedrooms and bath, sumptuous dinner spread. Areas which need improvement - improvement required in stock of essentials in the kitchen...

We stayed in the homestay not the houseboats. These do seem to be the mainstay of the property. The house is directly on the river but behind a wall. We took chairs from the dining room to sit out front to watch river life. Rooms were oldy worldy, the bed in our room was so high I had to take...
