I stayed here in Jan - March 2020 just before Covid hit the world. I was volunteering at an organisation down the road, and the staff at Ramo made sure I felt completely at home. The room & bathroom were a good size, good amount of shelving, and when I asked for more clothes storage I got new furniture the same day. I also requested a mosquito net which got put in the following day. I had hot water every day and the bathroom was nicer than my bathroom at home! The bed was huge and really comfy, and I had a small table/chairs outside my room to drink tea and eat food. I went swimming in the lake most mornings. Super close to town, I rented a bike and it took about 5-10 minutes to drive across the bridge. Next door there is a great place (Mamas Kitchen) to eat delicious local food and drink $1 beer. Some weekends there was kareoke which went on quite late (i think at the place next door) but thats to be expected anywhere in Cambodia! The main thing was I felt totally safe there as a solo femal traveller, and would recommend to anyone staying in Kampot for a while. Thank you Ramo Resort. I will be back.…
It really interested place 1/ when I arrived in twon I feel it my home And to Visit my friend she really happy and she doesn't expect I came to meet here in here town . And brink to Visit Kep and we have Lunch to getther after Lunch I stay twon one night . 2/ I moved to Stay at Ramp Resort it good place and the room where I stay it comfortable and balcony with the river view fresh air / 3/ To visit Bokko mountain (1800mHieght) This season when go the top of mountain it really cold and full of foggy . Would bring with jacket or raincoat with you
I have been at ramo for several week, with one to go. Would I return? No. If I hadn’t paid upfront I honestly would have moved after one or 2 nights. I have stayed in the treehouse bungalow which looks lovely and has AC (when the power hasn’t failed). But the bathroom drainage is terrible, constantly gets blocked and I’m walking in swamp water to go to the bathroom. Plenty of creepy crawlers. Lots of large inspects, spiders and lizards in my room. Right by the river there are swans of mosquitoes. I have worn 3 types of repellent and am still getting bitten even when I’m covered up and trying to sleep. The road outside is not complete so there is constant dust, mud, wet concerted and rubble as soon as you leave. THE NOISE!!!!!! The very few other people staying here (visitors or possibly employees) in the neighboring rooms are so noisy! Playing Asian karaoke so loudly that I can hear it in my room over my own music. I am woken daily by construction so noisy that I can’t hear my own voice in the recording I tried to load to attach to this review. The staff are lovely, some of them speak English but most don’t. The price of the room does NOT match what is on offer. I could have stayed somewhere half the price for the same level of comfort. The river looks nice but is polluted and full of rubbish and debris and oil. I swam once or twice but not good on my skin afterwards. The restraint is average priced, not an extensive menu. In terms of location, it’s obviously very close to the river, but far from everything else! You cannot go for walks at night, due to the stray dogs that have and will chase you in packs. Not the worst experience but definitely not the best!! …
I went there for one night for a short escape. It was somehow uncomfortable at night as there were people drinking loudly outside. Yet the view was so amazing and relax in the morning. Worth the visit
Locate in Kampot Province along the way to TouekChhou water fall! The place still need more maintenance, the garden need more take care of. Room is basic ( bungalow style) good for foreigners the local not gonna like it much! Was a bit disappointed of the construction noise ( probably their neighbor building the house) wake me up before 7am. One this that great about this place is got the river view look so great! Anyway staff are polite and handful!
