I stayed there for two nights, no information was provided about the hotel. We went to the restaurant at 7 am for breakfast because we were having meeting at 8, but staff didn't ask anything and when we asked they said the restaurant open at 7.30am, we needed to walk about 1km to have breakfast and somewhere else. The day we checked out, they staff had no idea how many nights we stayed and what food we ordered for lunch the day when we checked in. They issued the wrong bill, and it take us around 40 min to check out.

I am a VERY experienced traveler and I booked this hotel outside of Kampot for three nights on a booking service and I would have checked out after the first day, if possible! The hotel is way out of town and so you have to use a tuk tuk ($$) to do anything. Most customers are Khmer and it was very loud until late every night and also early in the morning, when they were shouting at each other during the check out time. Only the reception and restaurant are near the river. There is no river view or experience from the rooms. In the room, there was NO TV, a wet shower so the entire bathroom gets soaked, no fan but OK A/C. There is NO pool and the river is the only swimming option! The worst part is that the customer service was horrible! They constantly looked for ways to rip me off. On the first morning, when given the breakfast menu, I ordered an omelet (OK) and for drink the menu identified coffee, tea and juice as options. When I ordered coffee, the waiter said that coffee was $2 extra! (It is complimentary in the room). The next morning when I went for breakfast and asked for the menu, I was told I had to eat from a horrid, left-over Khmer buffet with three items, or pay for breakfast and of course the coffee was $2 again! Of course there are no prices on the breakfast menu, because it is complimentary (duh!) On check-out they tried to get me to double pay for the room. I liked Kampot but would NEVER stay at this Hotel again! No sign of an owner or any management at all! The staff just laze around all day and look for ways to take advantage of their customers.

We spent 2 nights at the salty river resort. It isn’t anything special. Staff is all run by kids, who can’t understand anything. Tried to charge us for stuff we didn’t have. Internet barely worked and our room smelled horrible. I gagged trying to shower cause of the odor. Beds are hard as a rock. And I felt rushed in mornings as the staff of kids sat on our pitches waiting to clean, which was shake a rug and that’s all.
