After a day on Safari, coming home to relax at the Roika lodge was a great experience, you are in the middle of nowhere with everything at your finger tips, Henry the manager and his staff were very welcoming and nothing was too hard. Great food, comfortable rooms and relaxing. thanks Roika.

Set in the heart of Tanzania's Tarangire National Park, Roika is a great place for couples, families or friends. The lodge was very clean and featured some very unique African touches. The food was excellent here and the staff at Roika went to every length to make our stay a great one. The only downside was the pool. We avoided... More

We arrived at 9pm in the dark and expected a 'tented lodge' instead we were greeted with hot towels, juices and a completely luxurious 5 star dinner prepared by chefs matching what you would eat in a major city. The accomodation was a gorgeous house with a elephant bathtub. A bit scary being escorted by Massai warriors due to elephants... More

It was ouer forst night in a tents camp in tanzania..When we arrived the hotel staff was waiting for us with cold drinks and hot towels to clean ower face of the roadside dust. Masai warriors equipped with bayonets and wearing authentic costume took the luggage and escorted us "tent " that looks like a villa. Comfortable beds. Very clean... More

The lodge accommodations are raised "tents" with thatched roofs. The rooms are well set up and with an African motif. It really doesn't feel very much like you are in a tent at all. You CAN hear the sounds of the world around and it's a bit of a walk back to the dining hall, so you have to get... More

This lodge is in the bounderies of Tarangire Park, but it is already completely surroinded by pure nature. You can reach it only with a pretty long drive inside the park, so you are completely isolated, with only a few Masai "boma" in the neighborhood, and close to the banks of Tarangire river. It is Amazing how the hotel staff... More

After a morning drive in Tarangire National Park, stopping in a community shop to buy some beadwork which I like very much, we get to Roika Tented Lodge, within half an hour. There are only two of us to have lunch there and we have it in a patio like area. The service is extremely friendly and we can relax... More

We had a real adventurous experience, real contact with nature and excellent service! The restaurant food was very good! I highly recommend this place. At night we heard elephants crossing and eating near our tend.

We stayed only 1 night at the beginning of our Safari trip to Tanzania. As a first impact with this new journey it couldn't be more "real". A tented lodge in the middle of nature, you could clearly hear the noise of elephants passing during the night. To go back /forth from your lodge you had the escort of Maasai!... More

This hotel does have quirky bathrooms, as previous reviewers have mentioned, but they are good for a laugh and memory. The hot water is wonderful, showers have pressure, beds are comfortable, food & service were excellent. Before we went to our rooms one of the staff explained everything we needed to know--when the generator turns off, how to access internet,... More
