We stayed here for 2 nights of our 5 week trip in Africa with OAT. The tents were comfortable and quiet. The washroom has a talking shower where the staff would fill up the shower with water and wait if you needed more. The area around the camp is a conservation area so animals come into camp during the night....

We spent here 1 night at the beginning of our week safari in Tanzania. The main reason for choosing this place was that we thought we would be able to make an early morning safari in Tarangire additionally. BUT...the lodge used to be inside the park boundaries, however due to high fees they had to pay to the park headquarters,...

We stayed overnight in August 2015. The tent was comfortable but a handbasin inside for tooth cleaning was needed. Food was good; staff helpful. We would have much preferred a stay inside Tarangire National Park because our night-time game-spotting was on very rough ground and an open vehicle was not provided. We were happy to see a bat-eared fox and...

We had a great time in this camp. The staff was very helpful and polite. They were able to offer great service despite having very few means at disposal. The tent was very comfortable and the food was good. The camp is located just outside of Taranguire, which was very convenient.

During our stay in Tanzania in July 2015 we stayed for one night at the Whistling Thorne Camp. It ist located closely to Tarangire National Park with several Massai villages nearby. Because of its remote location, the atmosphere was very authenic and intense. The staff was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. The tents were in a pretty good condition and you...

That would be the Grey Go-Away bird and they are pretty cool! The Lovebirds and staff were more welcoming. The tents were cute and very "green" but I think this property would do better to go after the backpacker market and reduce their prices. It's a beautiful place, but mostly empty, the 2nd night we were the only tourists there.

Tarangire park is a special place, wonderful wildlife especially elephants. Accommodation at Whistling Thorn was comfortable and staff were very helpful and eager to serve. We stayed for one night which made a great start to our safari holiday.

This lodge is close to the Tarangire national park. The local Maasai are supported; they help to guard the camp in the night, and they offer a welcome-dance to new guests. It's all very authentic. The lodge has only a couple of tents; so it's all very cosy. The bathrooms are basic, but with a short notice, the hosts prepare...

We had 3 tents here for one night. They were all immaculate. Large with great shower toilets attached. A real toilet. The food was excellent and the staff couldn't do more to help. We woke up with a herd of Zebra grazing round the tent. A truly magical place and first class.

We stayed here one night. The tents are spacious, neat, well presented and has the bush shower. The bush shower is filled manually and the staff wait around to ensure you have enough water to take shower. Bottle water is provided for drinking and brushing your teeth. The staff are friendly; took care of our special requests for the meals...
