A true taste of the African Countryside - lovely peaceful setting Great hospitalityfromm all the team with wonderful food being delivered to our unit (Kubili and Kune). Nice walks on the doorstep hosted by the owners Ridgeback! Paul was very patient with our limited riding skills and we all thoroughly enjoyed our ride around the estate on his lovely horses....

I was in the area to research the Zulu War battlefields and chose Rorke's Drift Lodge as an affordable place to stay within easy reach of the sites. It proved to be a very lucky choice. The owner Paul Lamberth knows a tremendous amount about the history of the area and could not have been more helpful. His tours are...

We had a perfect time except on the second night it was very warm and we had a hard time sleeping. Without aircon we would not consider staying in the summer or when it is getting hot. The service, food and facilities are wonderful.

Dear Larry, Thank you so much for your great review. And thank you for pointing out that we do not have airconditioners on the property. One of the reasons we can offer you a four star room at a three star price. This year's drought has been exceptionally hot and dry and we are hoping for a cooling off soon.

The track up to the lodge appears a bit daunting but persevere and in some ways it is great fun! It is worth it when you get there. The setting is one of peace and tranquillity with spectacular views around. The property itself has a series of self contained units which are very well supplied in terms of facilities. The...

Magical - wonderful food, beautiful room, great staff, peace & quiet with far reaching views. This is our second stay and we cannot wait to return again, but for longer next time - two nights was not enough!

My husband and I loved the romantic octagonal tower we stayed in, and our 3 children loved their private suite. Beautifully converted, unique accommodation, in a very peaceful spot. Great service too.

The last 5km drive to Rorke's Drift Lodge seems a little daunting but is not actually too bad, even in a standard hire car. Once you arrive the accommodation is very good and rather unusual (bedroom and bathroom a converted water tower) and the view superb. Check-in was easy and well organised and everything as booked. Dinner was prebooked as...

Where do I start - the location and rooms were superb and the Christine and the staff very welcoming and helpful. We had evening meals delivered to our unit and they were delicious. We loved our stay at Rorke's Drift Lodge. We spread the family over three of the units, all of which were individually stunning. We loved sitting outside for dinner and breakfast and watching the odd antelope wander past. The catering (pre-order menu choices for a delicious meal served at your unit) is superb. The co-owner Paul gave us a superb...

The location was incredible, words, photos and pictures cannot do justice to such an idyll. As well as it being the perfect spot for discovering the battlefields, it was also the perfect spot to soak up the ambience of such a beautiful country. The accommodation was wonderful: the beds were very comfortable, (even had electric blankets to keep you warm)...
