My wife and I came down to Gatlinburg from Chicago for an extended getaway weekend. We stayed at the Summit.

We stayed in Building 2 and unfortunately from our unit we could only see the trees outside our balcony. The views from the right places on the property are amazing. N

The complex itself could stand a little tender loving care. The condo we stayed in was nicely decorated with plenty of beds-one king, one queen, and a bunk bed. Small kitchen but all we needed.

The views are absolutely gorgeous from the complex. Make sure you walk around and lo

Might have been better if you booked through the complex and not an outside source. We had to wash our towels several times. And one lady in the office had a very bad attitude about getting change for washing laundry. VERY HATEFUL

We stayed at The Summit after seeing photos a friend had taken earlier this year of spectacular sunrises and sunsets. The Summit condos are at the top of the ridge so you have east-facing on one side and west-facing on the other. However, a very short walk across the parking lot

I booked a unit thru VRBO after finding one much cheaper than Priceline, so I can’t speak of that process. We enjoyed our Memorial Day stay. (Our condo was nicely appointed but my husband peaked into our neighbor’s one day and said it was completely different).

How far from downtown ?
Not sure of exact mileage. But it is only about 15 mins. Or less depending on how you drive. It is not far. But need to drive slow. No guardrails. And it is at the very top of the mountain.

Are linens and towels provided? Thanks! Heidi
Depends on whether you are booking through the complex management or an independent property manager / vacation club. Our vacation club supplied towels and linens. As mentioned above - each unit is owned separately.

How did they do during the latest wildfires? we were considering coming in in Feburary. Hear great things about the Summit. I hope that everyone is ok.
The Summit responded on their Facebook page. They are just fine. Go there and stay, we love the place and will be in town during Christmas this year!

What condo has the best view? Have never been and going to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary in November
There are also many individually owned condos that are rented through VRBO, with which the office can't help you. Our 2 bedroom unit is one of those, and overlooks Pigeon Forge in the distance. We think our view is pretty spectacular on this side in Building #5. I'm not allowed to put links here, but you can Google us at Mountain Dewey's. There are 24 pictures and lots of information on the site.
