Was a nice central campground. Time of year was perfect for tent camping. Some of the RV noise was annoying but expected. Nice sites. Small camp store open from 4 to 7. Bathrooms were clean but showers would be nice.

This campground is closest to Gatlinburg. The park here is just beautiful. A pretty river runs through the campground and there are many trees and large boulders. Many sites are only good for tents. They only open a part of the campground prior to mid April, and no reservations are taken at that time, so you have to get there...

We were on a 7 week road trip that included stops in 7 national parks and several state parks. The smoky mountains do not get the credit it deserves. The campground was clean, quite and beautiful. Our site was right next to the river. We stayed at the end of October which is the end of camping season at Elkmont...

My husband and I had an excellent time tent camping at Elkmont. He is a veteran camper, but I am not. We were pleased with the facilities, and we loved the little camp store. So convenient for firewood, and anything you may have forgotten. We cannot wait to go back!

We weren't sure where to camp for the 4 days we had and selected Element. It is a perfect location. It is serviced by a shuttle that for $1.00 takes you into Gatlinburg and for $.25 will take you to Laurel Falls or Sugarlands visitor center. The campground is spacious and sites are huge. We were in the J section...

We somehow landed a site on the water and it was so picturesque. I wish we could have stayed another night! The bathrooms are very clean and we enjoyed walking the campground. It is peaceful and quiet. I would certainly recommend this campground.

Like all GSMNP campgrounds, this one is located in a beautiful part of the park along the little river. As with all, there are no utilities and the sites only allow short RV's and tents. It is ideal for tent campers, pop-ups and short self contained RV's. The river is stunning and as a bonus, you can stroll the streets...

We stayed at campsite B024 for 5 total nights, and I HIGHLY recommend even though we weren't on the river, we saw a bear one day FROM OUR TENT. Awesome! We had neighbors on the left that were about 30 feet away and the neighbors on the right were quite a distance. Campsites B25-B27 are VERY close to each other....

We stayed at Elkmont campground for 4 nights in our teardrop camper. We loved it. The campsites are spacious but they have no electricity or water. The staff running the campstore are extremely friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were clean but note there are no showers or hot water. It is located along the river so a lot of families...

First things first there are clean bathrooms here. On the road to this campground there are cool places where you can turn off and play in the river. What's nice is there aren't many people on the little river in this area compared to the Sinks. When we went we were the only people near the river and were able...
