After booking my room I saw poor reviews of the hotel, so I was worried until we checked in. Nothing fancy, but the room was clean and the bed comfortable; after all, isn't that all you need? When we are hiking or checking out the sites of the North Shore, we want somewhere to

Yes, that is Lake Superior in the background.
Has any work been done to this place to improve it? I have a room booked in October but I don't want to pay hard earned money if it's going to be aweful. I'm just asking based on reviews.
Just made a reservation and then checked the reviews....they sound awful! Can you ask the Spruceglen Inn if they have solved some of the terrible reviews...thx
"Ask for two double beds"
"Avoid staying here"
"Rude unreasonable staff. Sleeping in car is an option."
"Don't do it."
"Avoid 412 in the motel unless you don't need to sleep."
