No-frills rooms are clean and most offer a decent view of nearby woods. Skimpiest continental breakfast offering I've ever seen, but there is a great donut shop down the street. No swimming pool, but they let guests use the pool free at nearby Aspen Lodge, which is owned by same people.

This older property was the only one with rooms available, so I decided to give it a try. I was a bit apprehensive, but went ahead and booked. The staff was so friendly! Very nice people. The room was older and outdated, but clean. The air conditioning worked well, but was loud. When it kicked in at one point during...

We were a group traveling on our motorcycles. This place was a bit out of town, too far to walk but the pizza delivery fron Sven and Ollies was great. The breakfast was fine and the girl on the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The town itself is beautiful. It was all we needed.

The hotel needs updating but seemed to be clean overall. The airflow can also be improved, the room felt stuffy. The continental breakfast was always fresh. The hot tub was nice especially after being on the hill all day. There is no pool. If you're looking for a simple hotel with basic amenities this is a good place.

I would consider this your average motel at best. Used to be a Super 8 and now is Aspen Inn. Not only needs updating but certainly needs a good cleaning. The staff was friendly and the breakfast in the morning very basic. I thought the price paid was a bit high for this property, will spend a few more dollars...

Having been to Grand Marais many times I knew not to expect the Ritz, which is perfectly fine with me. Once I arrived I lowered my expectations a couple more notches. This motel has clearly seen better days, and hasn't been updated in a long time. Bed was hard in my back. It's a less than average motel. Better than...

We enjoyed a comfortable room with a beautiful view of the lake out our window. It was close to the downtown area, so that was convenient. I felt that he price of the room was a little high for a very basic hotel room.

We did not make hotel plans ahead of our visit so most places right in town or on the water, were booked. We stayed at the Aspen Inn which was about a mile outside of downtown. The motel was very old and worn out. It was relatively inexpensive, but honestly it was still not worth the $90/night. It was amazingly...

If you are looking for clean, friendly and simple place to sleep so you can go out and enjoy what this part of northern Minnesota has to offer this is pretty nice. The do have a pool and hot tub but we were too busy exploring to check those out. I was impressed with the new locks on the rooms,...
