Darling! We got here the last day of the season so the town was pretty much winding down and we couldn't find any vacancy, but as we were leaving we saw a vacancy sign at the place with the cute little cabins. Low and behold, there was one left! It was fate! Driving up to cabin #1 I was reminded...

The only reason I don't give this 5 stars is the bathroom is pretty tiny, otherwise this is probably one of if not the best place to stay in Grand Marais. We will be back for sure. We stayed in the "hotel" #6 fantastic old time feel.

I’m an “order online days in advance” kind of traveler, but when my wife and I decided on a last-minute vacation getaway to the Lake Superior North Shore, we found ourselves out of luck finding a room for two on a Friday night. Feeling a bit adventurous, we set out anyway and arrived late afternoon in Grand Marais, Minnesota, August...

We stayed here for one night and were able to get in on the spur of the moment - camping was getting a little to wet for us. There is a quilt shop and even lessons available in the office. The quilts were beautiful. We chose the Big Cabin over a motel room. I would give Big Cabin a 3....

We had cabin number 5, a single queen bed in a fairly small room. A very small attached bathroom, plus a kitchenette in the main room. Furniture was old but mostly renovated, everything was clean. Very nice outlook next to a small wood, pleasant trail to the lake. The room was a little cramped, but OK for one night. Quiet and...

We stayed in a 1 bedroom cabin out close to hwy 61. The beds were great and the place was very clean. We had no trouble sleeping --even though we were very close to the hwy. I loved the homemade quilts on the beds. The location is very convenient for activities in Grand Marias and along the North Shore.

We recently had an extended stay in Grand Marais (week long) and stayed in Cabin 10. It is also closest to Hwy 61. We understand this to be the "oldest" cabin on the property-3 bedrooms, full kitchen, 1 bathroom. There is a connecting garage and a pad locked door from one bed room to garage. All Rooms get plenty of...

I was not expecting luxury and certainly not paying for it, but I was disappointed that the cabin was so cold. Without insulation or storm windows, the tiny baseboard heater, partially obscured by the bed, could not pump out enough heat to get the cabin above 56 degrees by the last night I stayed there. Was it the unseasonably cold...

Our stay in Trailside Cabins was the perfect getaway. The couple that run this place are the best and very hard workers. The place was nice and cozy, it enhance the whole experience staying in Grand Marais. I will sure come back again.

I thought the cabins were very cute and comfortable. They don't give you cleaning service during your stay, but I was completely fine with that. I liked the windows everywhere; I like the room to be quite cool while I sleep, and leaving them open was a great option. We (my boyfriend and I and our cat) stayed in the...

“Try a newer cabin, as the older cabin we stayed in was moldy (icky carpet) and the shower was not large enough for an adult.”

“We were relatively close to 61 in Big Cabin and didn't have a noise problem. I could see how rooms right on the road could - they are motel rooms.”

“Some of the cabins are newer than others. If traffic noise bothers you, ask to be further from the hwy.”

“If you're trying to pick sizes, go for the larger one. There's not much of a price difference, but if this place were a clothing store, let's say things run small.”

“Their website doesn't seem to have a property map, so if you go, you're kinda guessing what part of the property you're on. Some cabins are very close together.”
