Our stay at the Blue Heron B&B began with owner Deb meeting our flight at the Gustavus airport with a sign and a smile. Deb started our stay out on a great note by giving us a personal tour and history of Gustavus before we...More
My plan was to meet a sailboat in Glacier Bay and decided that a B&B would be a luxurious treat before that. After speaking with Deb I changed my one night plan to two nights so I could check out the area. Less than a...More
Comfy & convenient -- affordable with lots of extras -- the Blue Heron Inn does not disappoint! If you are planning a trip to this magical little island without a car -- transportation is key! Despite arriving 8 hours behind schedule, Deb picked us up...More
Comfy cabin; substantial, tasty breakfasts. Airport pick up & drop off. Common room a bit dated, needs spruce-up. Host very knowledgeable, helpful - but at times we felt over-managed. Tended to over-hype Gustavus attractions. Likely one of the best of Gustavus' limited options.
We had the most wonderful experience in Gustavus thanks to Deb. Our rooms were clean, nicely decorated...breakfasts were the most incredible experience...but the real treasure is Deb herself. She went above and beyond to make our trip to Gustavus a memorable one and anticipated (and...More

Hi, our experience was that Deb, the B&B owner, picked us up at the airport and gave us a tour of the community (it's very small- about 400 people!) on the way back to the B&B. She also dropped us off at the airport for our return flight. Her partner Pete gave us a ride to the lodge for the day boat tour. We rode the lodge's bus back to the intersection close to the B&B (at her suggestion). The kayak rental outfit picked us up & dropped us off. Basically she will drive you around if she can do so (considering she has other guests and stuff to do). If she can't drive you, she has free bikes you can ride and can give you the number for a local taxi service (which we never had to use). One way or another, she will take care of you!
