I loved the lodge and would go back at the drop of a hat. I'm from California, where you have to fight crowds in the parks. There are very few places this beautiful that you can get to without backpacking where you can enjoy the degree of isolation I found at Glacier Bay. Most of the time I had the...

Very nice large very clean rooms. NO TV! No cell service. Wifi in lobby . Peace and quiet is all you get but all you want at somewhere this beautiful. Staff is super nice and eager to please. Take the Forest Trail hike (.7 miles) it is breathtaking! Views from Beach are wonderful. Restaurant was very good and prices were...

Just spent 4 days here. I thought it was heaven on earth. I'm a little stunned by some of the negative reviews. Ooooh, I looked out my window and my view was of trees, Oooo my food wasn't cooked by Wolfgang Puck and served by a professional waiter, Oooh.... My Wifi doesn't work. Are you kidding me, Wifi? Why on...

Great location, but the shuttle runs when it feels like it. Don't think of your typical hotel shuttle from a major airport, this is a large school bus with a schedule all its own. Think "island time," just a bit northward. For the next trip we will bring a rental car over on the car ferry, so that we can...

this picture of the rooms aren't even close! this is a 1967 holdover from a national park that has cabins marked as "view rooms" that haven't had a view of the bay since 1975! all trees , firs, spruce AND alders, have grown in to a height which forbids a view to anywhere but the trees! I respect the greening...

A two star room with a four star price. The more expensive view rooms only have view of near by trees. All that said it is an awesome location with trail and glacier bay boat tour access. Good restaurant, comfy bed, and very friendly and helpful staff. A truly unique experience of one of the last wild places. The glacier bay...

We enjoyed our 3 day stay. The room was spartan, but adequate. The untrimmed trees and plants mostly hid the view of the lake. (Come on Forest Service--clean it up some so the lake is not concealed!). No need to pay for a view, if you can't see the lake. The beds were comfortable, but the chair needed repair. The area...

This lodge is not the type that was built by the railroad like Paradise Lodge or Old Faithful Inn. It is smaller, and has gas logs in the lobby fireplace. Also it is newer and smaller than those other lodges. There is a very small gift shop and the park visitor center is upstairs. The visitor center is adequate, if...

The view from the veranda and main deck of Glacier Bay Lodge looked out over Bartlett Cove where on both nights that we stayed there were Humpback whales swimming lazily about three hundred yards from shore. The second night we were there, the bright sun of the summer sky was shining on the still water, and we could hear them...

It's too bad National Park Service has Aramark running all the great park lodges. You can always plan on mediocrity served up at high prices. Glacier Bay Lodge fits the model. We stayed here because it is a grand park lodge with grand views. You get picked up at the airport in a ratty bus with dirty windows that you...
