So glad we chose the Lodge for our hotel. Certainly wouldn't want to be back in town. Feels like you are already in the wilds. Ranger walks are informative. Day long boat trip into Glacier Bay was worth every penny. Thought we would have down time but sightings of whales seal, otter, brown bear, mtn goat and multiple glaciers kept...

I stayed at the lodge so that I could take the Glacier Bay boat tour. The lodge is EXTREMELY rustic which I wasn't quite expecting but it was still fine. The tour of Glacier Bay is not to missed no matter the cost!

We agree that the boat tour is not to be missed! It is arguably the best day tour in any national park. The rooms are all getting a facelift for next year with new mattresses, furniture and artwork but will still retain the rustic Alaskan feel. Thank you for the review! Jeff Bell General Manager

We arrived at the lodge at 6.45am in the morning instead of the previous evening due to a ferry delay.Just in time for a quick breakfast as we had to catch the boat for the Glacier Bay Tour. Could have missed breakfast as was a limited buffet, scrambled eggs were average and not a very extensive cereal selection. Also had...

The rooms were quite spacious and clean. The rooms are located in midst the national park surrounded by trees and nice vegetation. It was very quiet. Very convenient location. Would definitely stay there again.

Alaska attracts very different types, many of them drawn by the abundant animal life, which some hope to catch or kill and others want just to observe and photograph. If you are one of the former, there are plenty of fishing inns and hunting lodges where you will fit right in. If you're one of the latter, there is no...

This property is located in a national park and is touted as 'eco-tourism'. Rooms are basic and located around a central reception/dining/lounge building, accessed via boardwalks. As a general comment, staff were efficient but service was average. If you are looking for remoteness and solitude, then this place is ideal.

We stayed at Glacier Bay Lodge in July of 2015 with our two ten-year-old children. It was a spectacular place to feel immersed in the beauty of Glacier Bay. We took the boat tour, which is amazing, and it was wonderful for the kids to have access to the nature center/ranger station right in the building. The restaurant is a...

It is great to hear that your 10-year-old children enjoyed the lodge and park. It is a surprisingly great place for kids, especially the tide pools and whales. As you say, it is magical! Thank you for staying with us and writing a review. Jeff Bell Glacier Bay Lodge General Manager

Despite 2 solid days of cold rain and limited visibility this was a great 3 days spent at Glacier Bay Lodge. The rooms are clean and comfortable - will be nice when they replace the saggy mattresses as promised. The common lounge area is comfortable and the dining room offers great views of the bay. We were at the lodge...

We agree - the lack of cell service is a great thing about this location! It is a perfect chance to unwind and get away from it all. We are glad to hear that you had a great time and enjoyed the service. Although it being the end of the year, we do our best to provide a full menu...

This was a lovely place to stay. The rooms are cozy - not too big, but with all the modern amenities. They had a rustic feel to them, including a nice, woody (not musty) smell. Rooms were clean and comfortable. If you're doing activities in Glacier Bay National Park, especially the boat day tour, this is a great location. The...

Thank you for the informative review and for the compliments about our staff. We have a great team of employees here and it is nice to see them in comments. You are right that this is the best location in the area. We have hiking trails right off the doorstep, and watching a sunset from the back deck is unforgettable....

You are here for the scenery. No cell phone service and never could retrieve my email. But there is land line service. Food was good at dinner. We bought the pre-paid Buffett breakfast vouchers. Useful as waiters/waitresses can be slow bringing a bill. Wonderful wait staff but they are all young, personable but still learning. Take the Glacier Bay tour...
