My rule is this...in an historic town stay in an historic place. Anyone can stay in an Express this or that. When it was built in 1938 the Murray was certainly the place to be and it still is. Located in the heart of downtown close to art shops and restaurants you can walk it all. The hotel has been...

My family stayed at the The Murray for a second trip and we enjoyed it again. We love the fact that this is a renovated older hotel. Love the history and they've done a nice job of updating all of it. Location is perfect for walking around the downtown area and for driving out and about. The staff is friendly...

The Murray is ideally located in the heart of downtown Silver City, near all the shops, galleries and restaurants. The staff is uniformly excellent and rightfully proud of their city. The rooms are modestly sized, particularly the bathroom, but charming and full of character. The queen bed was comfortable. You can hear the neighbors, which is why we kept the...

There is a very friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in one of the newly refinished rooms which was nicely done. They furnished a good continental breakfast. The location is well suited for walking to good restaurants and major tourist sites.

I enjoyed my recent 4-day stay here. The best thing about the hotel is the location and the staff - location is perfect for walking around the old historic part of town, or even up to the university. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and quiet. I would definitely consider staying here based on...

Pleasant clean room, but had as for extra blankets & space heater. Good staff, continental breakfast & good location - what more could you ask in an independently owned boutique hotel. Murray hotel was built in 1938. Closed in 1980 & redevelopment in 2010-2011. Make your reservation ealy for the many Silver City festivals.

A wonderful property that the owners are skillfully bringing back to glory. Unlike the other historic hotel in town, the focus here is on the rooms and second on the public areas. The rooms - we had a small suite which means a corner room, a little larger than most but at a AAA rate it was very inexpensive. Very...

My husband and I traveled from California to South Texas and wanted to stay in some small out of the way places to and from. On the way home, we chose Silver City NM and booked a room at the Murray Hotel. It was a Sunday night and most shops and places in Silver City were closed so the town...

We are so glad you found your way to the Murray on your trip from CA to TX. Our hopes is guests feel like the Murray is their get-a-way home away from home. Our staff is caring, and helpful, and always willing to help tired travelers. We hope had some of our breakfast items the next morning and the best...

This was a really neat place to stay. You can tell they're in the process of fixing up/maintaining the property, it's a neat looking historic building - it's still in really good condition and the rooms are comfortable. Staff is super friendly and helpful.

The Murray is smack in the heart of our historic downtown. The Murray Hotel, which takes up most of a whole city block, was built in the Art Deco style in 1937. We hope you noticed the original tile and fixtures, the porthole windows, the graceful curving lines of the stair banisters -- those little touches make us proud of...
