Arlington Place opened the Fall, 2015 as a love letter to Brooklyn and Bed-Stuy. The house has long been famous - it was the setting for the family home in Spike Lee’s movie “Crooklyn.” After extensive renovations, Arlington Place is open to public as both a B&B and Private Event Venue.

First of all, I truly cannot say enough great things!! We had our wedding here in late June and it was absolutely the perfect venue. Our guests still refer to it as "magical". After scouring just about every option in New York (I'm an obsessive researcher) a friend recommended Arlington Place. Upon our first visit we booked it on the spot - no contest. The space is a dream- so thoughtfully renovated with every last attention to detail and utmost quality (no expense was spared). Maintaining all original historic charm, and then some, the owner Liz has carefully chosen local art to add a complimentary touch of modern edge to the walls. The space is perfect for an event our party, offering a different atmosphere depending on which level; We started with a cocktail hour on the main/parlor level accompanied with stand up bass and pianist (piano in the room), the backyard was used for the ceremony, the kitchen and den were prefect for a buffet dinner and main bar, then we had everyone together for speeches/first dances in the cellar which felt so special like a speakeasy. It was perfect later on when guests could choose which area of the house fit their mood- downstairs a DJ and dance party, backyard fresh air, parlor and kitchen perfect for intimate conversation. Liz could not have been any more helpful with all of the planning as well- regularly talking my mother and I through all details, often adding extremely useful guidance and tips. Her recommendations on catering/menu were excellent (we went with Pies and Thighs- a real crowd pleaser!), and we brought in our own alcohol which Liz helped to source and create simple cocktail ideas. She had a fantastic recommendation for the musicians, which came in at a better price than what I had found elsewhere and we couldn't have been more pleased- Adam was so easy to work with, and even played a bit longer than paid as he said he was having fun. We had him play guitar for the ceremony and (as mentioned) piano/stand-up bass for cocktail hour. Liz actually ended up ordaining us and went to the trouble to contact our best friends and siblings for personal insight, a really nice touch. She even helped to organize an after-party at Bedford hall, which I would highly recommend as they are within close walking distance and a very charming spot for the late partiers (there's always at least a small crew looking to carry on the fun!), or just to grab a drink while you stay here. My family and I also stayed here for a few nights surrounding the wedding and it was an incredible experience- felt like having your own private Brownstone. Ambyr, the innkeeper, is so super lovely- easy to talk to and does not get in your way, she makes you feel comfortable at home. I had my friend doing flowers and they wanted to plan a day ahead and create garlands for the railings in front and out back- Ambyr was very accommodating to this. Getting ready in the big room with in-suite bathroom was perfect, it allowed sitting space for my girlfriends/family to hang out and just spent a nice morning together the day of the wedding. I could basically write a novel about how much I love this place and the experience of hosting an event here- could you tell? ;) Very genuinely, don't think twice it is so special and everyone will appreciate!

You can't ask for anything more in a B&B. Our stay was comfortable, quiet and so convenient to all the attractions of NYC. The townhouse is restored to it's original state and the work is done beautifully. It gives a feeling of calm and serenity which feels like an oasis in a big, stimulating & noisy city. I'm not a great sleeper but had the best night's rest here. Can't recommend it highly enough.

I celebrated my 40th birthday at the Arlington Place B&B. The townhouse is absolutely gorgeous. Every room is impeccably designed - classical design with adorable whimsical touches & each room with its own character. Our crowd spent most of the time in the basement, which looks a little dodgey as you are going down the stairs, then opens up to a cool, "speakeasy" with a fantastic full bar. We had about 60 guests, which was enough to not feel lonely, but there was plenty of room for more, if I had more friends. Liz and Amber could not have been more accommodating & even helped make sure that our catering went off without a hitch after we realized that our plan for food required more work than expected (getting hors d'oeuvres in and out of the oven and out to the serving stations). I highly recommend both for a party venue and as a hotel.

Our first trip to NY. Very Nice place and area so silent. Aircondition working excellent and extreme silent. Ambyr made Breakfast, special made to your request. It was excellent and we never seen that before. And help from her brother Neill for all other. So nice to have you there :P Fun and joy with other guests during breakfast was so amazing, some mornings we spend several hours to talk, so good.

Why attend a wedding when you can "LIVE" a wedding? One could not ask for a more idyllic setting than Arlington Place Bed-Stuy & Breakfast! Our family checked in on Thursday and thoroughly enjoyed every moment while there. The innkeeper, Ambyr, could not have been more charming, attentive and professional! I recommend this BnB very highly!
