We booked this hotel with Zen hotels in Dec 28 2018 for a room to sleep 4 in October 4 2019 for 1 night. When we got there we are told by 2 security guards that this is now a hostel for homeless men. We had paid 171 POUNDS for this room, and now we had nowhere to sleep. Luckily the guards told us about another hotel about 2 blocks away and we had to pay 300$ for 2 rooms. Fuming is an understatement??????
Clean, modern, functional yet stylish, airconditioned with 7x24h receptionist and 10min. walking distance either to metro station or to harbour rapid speed ferry terminal, where low cost but frequent trains/ferrys take you to downtown Manhattan. The Look is reasonably priced, as far as metro centric comfortable accomodation in NY can be called so for the midbudget traveller an it does feature a hotel parking for 'round ten bucks a day which is hardly available in downtown Manhattan.
I booked a king room at this hotel. They booked me into another hotel because of a problem they were having. The room they booked was the smallest I ever seen. This second hotel wanted to charge me $80 for a king room that I paid for. This hotel is not honorable. Would never stay there again.
The room where nice and spacious. But the bathroom has damaged walls and was not 100% clean (hairs). Our room was on the first floor and still noisy. The noises come from the lobby and loud closing doors. The staff was friendly, but we haven't got any information while our check-in. But the worst thing was, that the staff forget the reservation of our taxi. We were a little bit early back in the hotel and were waiting for about 45 minutes for our taxi. After 55 minutes I were asking the staff about our reservation. 15 Minutes later a Uber has been arrived... Another not great thing was that the staff haven't answerd my e-mail. I have asked them in the mail how to get to the hotel. So it was even my birthday and I let them know that I don't want to have any problems on that day. Sorry but that's still enough... If you like to stay here use citi bike for cruising or the ferry to get to Manhattan.…
I immediately felt cozy and at home in this quaint hotel near the Red Hook region. The staff are knowledgeable and very helpful. You'll have a good night's sleep on large, comfortable beds. Enjoy relaxing walks through quieter city streets, sip an espresso or enjoy lunch/dinner at European-style, authentic coffee shops or restaurants nearby. Walk over to the nearby grand shopping center, grab New York's famous key lime pie along the way, gaze at the Statue of LIberty across the waterway, or take a ferry to Manhattan. There's a bus nearby to go to downtown Brooklyn too. A treasure of a Brooklyn hotel.
