I called the hotel (347-696-2500) on 2/10/2021 in the morning and waited several minutes for the operator to pick-up. I asked to be connected with the concierge because I had questions on where to eat with the hotel restaurant closed because of Covid. The concierge did not answer and the voicemail was full – cutting me off. I called the hotel back and after 10 minutes of waiting for someone to answer the phone I was disconnected; so I sent an email to the hotel asking for the concierge to email me with a time that we can talk on the phone. The concierge emailed me a few hours later with a phone number (347-696-2556). I called and was able to leave a message. My call was not returned that day or the next. When I tried to access my reservation on the Hotel 1 website, it repeatedly said “Oops. We cannot access your reservation at this time, please try again in a few moments.” I cancelled my upcoming two night reservation by phone.

Dear PacoPennington1, I'm so sorry to learn of such a cumbersome and frustrating way of trying to simply get in touch. I'm not certain what happened as we have a team answering our main hotel line 24/7. And that clearly didn't happen. I apologize for that. If we still have the ability to accommodate you, we'd love to do so. To that extend, could you kindly e-mail us on 1bb-roomsleaders@1hotels.com and we'll ensure to assist timely and in the best way possible. Thank you for alerting us about this and I hope you accept my deepest apologies for our miss on that. With kind regards, Hans

Timothy M. is amazing! If I could give him more than 100 stars I would! I lost something important in the room which made me anxious and he worked with me in a calm way to ensure that we will find the item. He also personally went to FedEx to ship it for me!! What more could I ask for? Thank you again Tim and I will always remember this

The hotel is beautiful and the views are stunning. I had a lovely view of the bridge and downtown Manhattan and watching the view change as the sun rose and set was a treat. Pretty much everything except the grab-and-go cafe is closed at the hotel and there are no bellmen to help with luggage. The immediate area is pretty closed down too but walk a few blocks and you can still find some restaurants open and some shopping. In the room, while the moss planter in the middle of the room is cute, this space would be better used as additional deck space in the bathroom. I also don’t like stacking my clothes behind one another as the closet rail runs front to back instead of side to side. I found the staff to be very ambivalent and never really felt welcome, it was clear they were just there to type on the computer and run people’s credit cards. One of the doormen also was quite rude to me when I asked to get my luggage they were storing for me, as if he didn’t want to be inconvenienced to do his job. Overall I don’t regret staying here, but I probably won’t return, and I now hesitate to try any other 1 Hotels if it means I’d have the same staff attitude issues.

Dear John B, Thank you for taking the time and sharing your feedback with us. We value your comments about the room features as we collect our guest's feedback and discuss this as we plan and design future projects. It does sadden me that the team wasn't able to create a meaningful connection with you during your visit and if at all possible, would like to ask you to discuss that with you directly. We're grateful that our guests return and now with ongoing limitations of amenities in New York City, delivering a personal and warm service is more important than ever before. I'm sorry we weren't able to do deliver on this for you. I hope to hear from you. Hans
