We are so pleased that we happened upon this inn on our recent trip to Boston and New England. We highly recommend staying here, as it is historic, beautifully renovated, has parking, serves a delicious breakfast and plenty of in-between snacks, has well-informed and gracious innkeepers, and is located a short walk from the Green Line "T" subway stop. The... More

The desk person was always friendly and very helpful. The Inn was lovely. For the proximity to Boston, this was a very good value. It's a short, one block walk to a stop on the T (Boston's subway, which is above ground at that point). Nice area around the inn, felt very safe walking, even at night. The breakfast was... More

The Samuel Sewall Inn is in a very good location if you don't ming taking the T into Boston or if you are visiting Brookline or the Hospitals. We enjoyed the afternoon coffee, pita chips, chocolate covered almonds and chocolate filled pastry. The room was nicely decorated and had soft sheets. The bed was a little too soft or worn... More

Very impressed with the warmth of the reception we received at the inn. The thoughtfulness of management is exemplified by an abundance of informational materials about the Boston area. Our stay was short but we found the print-out of directions to the Mass Pike to be very helpful. We left too early to sample the full breakfast but the granola... More

The inn is located in a neighborhood full of beautiful old homes. It is in an area within walking distance of restaurants, trains, and the Longwood area of Boston. It was the most perfect place for us to stay while our son was hospitalized at the Brigham/Women's Hospital. We could easily walk back and forth for exercise and therapy. The... More

Close to public transportation, Trader Joe's, resturants, JFK's childhood home and downtown Boston. Always snacks in the lobby, great for when you have been walking all day and need a snack and a drink and a place to rest up for the evenings activity. Helpful staff! Got us tickets for the Duck Tour for the next morning! Got a heater... More

This began as a college tour of the Boston area. We loved everything about this place. We chose Room 7 on the second floor based on the photos on the inn's website. The room surprisingly was the original master bedroom of the house. The inn has 14 rooms...each has a private bathroom and shower. Decor was gorgeous. Robes were provided,... More

We booked at short notice and were delighted with this inn and would definitely stay here again if coming to Boston. The inn is really close to a T-line stop and we could get into the centre of Boston in about 15-20 mins. The local area is really safe and there are plenty of restaurants/cafes within a five minute walk.... More

It was very easy getting to this lovely B&B. Just a short taxi ride from the airport (about $20 I think) and then you can get the 'T' Line around Boston. The train stop is a very short (5 min) safe walk from the house and gets you into town in about 20 minutes or less. I did have to... More

I stayed at the Samuel Sewell for a week in October 2009 to be close to school during a particularly intensive week at school (I am finishing up an MBA at a nearby school). Usually I commute from my home on Cape Cod, but this week I needed to be at school every day for long stretches, so I booked... More

“While we had the same room for two different stays, we did see some of the other rooms which were also very nice. We had a basic queen size room which was perfect for my husband and myself.”

“Room 4, a corner room on the ground floor, is very nice and has a window air-conditioning unit and a floor fan that were perfect for keeping the room cool. There is a working fireplace for winter that I'm sure would create a very cozy atmosphere. This standard room worked well as a single; it might be a bit small for a double as there is no closet and I used convenient hooks on the wall with hangers for my clothes. I saw the other three rooms on the ground floor and they are all quite a bit bigger.”
