Clean rooms with friendly staff in a rustic setting. This is the perfect place to stay when visiting the McDonald Observatory. We enjoyed riding horses then drove up to the Star Party. The setting is rustic and beautiful. If you want a remote camp type environment I recommend Prude Ranch.

Just visited here during the bike ride, didn't stay. But looks like a cool place. Tent camping, rv spots, cabins, lodge, restaurant, activities. Right outside of town. Beautiful sunrise views. Close to McDonald observatory

So as we are on vacation it is decided to try horse back riding. After finding what is in the area where we are visiting we attempt to call and schedule a ride for the family. Only to one find out the horses are unable to carry a full grown man that is six foot one inch tall and weights...

My family has been visiting Fort Davis for 20 years. It's such a quaint, historic West Texas town & the Prude Ranch is where we always stay. Great rustic cabins, remote location, incredible food & fun activities for the whole family. Just a few minutes out of town and the drive is amazing.

We went riding for an hour ride. It was through a 1200 acre ranch. The ride was at a walk, because it was very rocky. I like to go faster but it was really fun to ride through the hilly terrain and see all the native dessert plants. It was really fun desire the slow pace. The guide Cody was...

We stayed here in our Casita RV one night during our most recent adventure in far west Texas. Prude Ranch is located 6 miles past Fort Davis and on the way to McDonald Observatory. Since we were going to the observatory, it was perfect location. They have cabins and rooms but we stayed in the pull-through section of their RV...

The food was industrial - canned, frozen and thawed or pre-packed. Not very good. Everything is pretty worn and not particularly clean. Looks like it might have been a cool place at one time. No longer.

We really wanted to give Prude Ranch a great review but.... Don't rely on them for your food. They will cancel and or move the time without notice. And it's expensive. Don't rely on them for on site attractions other than the horse back riding. It was the perfect location to do our day trips though.

The price was right with Passport America and the best thing about this place was the excellent Wi Fi. Probably because we were the only one there. There are a few RV sites but it is a ranch for group camping in bunk houses.

Fun time! beautiful day! 1 hour ride, if you're over 18 you can opt out of helmet if you're an experienced rider. The ride is beautiful but rocky, so consider the helmet. The horses are on cruise control, fall in line with each other and stay on track. Our guide was a wildlife major and very informative. We saw endangered...
