Epic Views of History. Visually stunning views of the Columbia River. Large ship traffic up and down the river make the Astoria Crest Motel the perfect spot for any traveler. Outdoor in ground hot tub makes viewing the Columbia River and the stars wonderful

This was one of the most affordable places to stay in Astoria and has a great view. Pros: - staff was great, polite and helpful, you can tell they really care - while the rooms are simple and outdated, they are INCREDIBLY clean and well maintained. I am very picky about cleanliness, even more so due to COVID, but the room was spotless and smelled clean. The lobby was just as clean and they take safety precautions very seriously. - the view can’t be beat! On a cliff overlooking the river, really phenomenal. Many of the rooms have balconies or patios that look out over the river. - amenities are great - shared hot tub with a view, picnic tables, laundry, breakfast, conference room space. Cons: - didn’t sleep great. The bed was very soft and uncomfortable. It might not be so bad if you were sleeping alone but for two people in a queen, we rolled into each other and you can feel the springs underneath. - noise - the wind was very loud the night we stayed. Obviously, not the hotel’s fault and it is the price of being on a cliff, but it kept me up. Had the bed been more comfortable, it may not have been as noticeable. We also had some loud neighbors who came loudly into their room around 1:00 am and partied until 3:00. Again, not necessarily the hotels fault but it should be noted the walls are a little thin. Overall, I think this is a clean, simple, well maintained motel. Nothing fancy but for the price, is a great place to stay in Astoria. If they got new beds, I would stay again in a heartbeat and would give 5 stars.

This is a simple, family-run motel, nothing fancy. You will not see mints on the pillow or little animals made from towels. What you will get here is very nice people, a clean comfortable room, a safe location, a communal hot tub, and beautiful views of the Columbia River. There’s a nice patio area out back to read, or visit, while enjoying the cool breezes and the pretty views. I look forward to my next trip.

Stayed here midweek as a home base for some northern coast exploring. The place looks a little tchotchke from the road, but.... When we got there, they didn’t have my reservation but had plenty of vacancies, and we were actually able to pick our room type. It’s the typical motel set up, but our room (105) had a back sliding door that opened up to the courtyard and view of Astoria and the mooring of ships in the Columbia. Really a very peaceful and magnificent view! We watched the clouds and mist roll in and out, with some sun in between. The rooms aren’t anything special, but they are very clean. Apparently, we had an ADA accessible room, but that toilet...it couldn’t have been for a normal height person because it was a low boy! No worries though! The extra handrails were there if you needed them. The crowning jewel of the room, besides the incredible view, was the bed. Now let me preface this by saying my wife and I have traveled all over, and this is a top 3 comfortable bed. Memory foam that just cuddles you to sleep! So soft and relaxing. The wifey got muy nap time! Our dogs even felt like we were at home! Location is just up the hill from the main drag. It’s walkable if that’s your thing, but we didn’t do it! How it is tucked away helps with the traffic noise and overall busy happenings where the “other” accommodations are located. The staff is super nice. The breakfast is typical cereal and muffins. It’s not some 5 star luxury place, but if you want a place to relax, I really don’t think you can beat this place in Astoria.

This is a very nice, clean hotel with a great staff. The owners of the hotel hosted a get together the night we stayed to celebrate 5 years since taking over the hotel. They were very friendly and hospitable. They have made great progress with the hotel in the time they have owned it, but still have a little way to go yet. The commons areas are newly renovated, clean, and well kept. Breakfast was very nice. While some of the rooms have been updated, we stayed in one that had not been. Our room, while dated, was very clean and well taken care of. I had only a couple minor complaints about our room that kept me from giving this hotel 5 stars. First, the bed was way too soft. It felt like a deflated air mattress. Hopefully the mattresses in the renovated rooms offer a little more support. The other, probably more important issue was that the rear sliding door didn’t latch or lock, which is a safety issue in a first floor room. Hopefully they were able to fix this issue and it isn’t representative of the other non-renovated rooms.

This is a very nice place to stay. Excellent customer service. The place is spotless. Prices are very reasonable. I almost always travel with my BFF and she has a dog. They need more pet friendly rooms! They are usually booked up for those of us with dogs. Great views and nice hot tub.
