The outside looks somewhat unimpressive, but the room had a great view of the harbor and the Astoria Bridge. We had a nice balcony, clean and attractive room, very comfortable beds with 4 pillows per bed, and nice bathroom amenities. The free breakfast was a particularly happy surprise with a number of food choices including bagels, cream cheese and smoked...

The room was basic but quite, every now and then we can feel the room vibrating, not sure what it was, nice overlook at the marina very tempting to cast a line from the balcony, breakfast bar was simple, staff is very nice and friendly.

Stayed for 2 nights - we wanted a base to explore the Oregon coast. Canon Beach hotels were really expensive, so we opted for Astoria and the Riverwalk Inn. The room had a lovely view over the marina and bridge. We opted for 2nd floor but be aware that there isn't an elevator so you may wish to choose the...

Don,t be put off by the industrial site location. Once in the door the room is freshly refurbished, comfortable with a balcony that looks over the marina and river.A generous continental breakfast is included looking over the river also. Bikes and DVD,s available

This is about our 12th time staying here over the last 6 years. Yes, there have been a few minor issues, but always fixed quickly by very nice people. We will be back, probably within a month or so! Nice accommodations and love the smoked salmon at breakfast on the weekends!

The Riverwalk Inn has certainly seen better days, which can probably be said for Astoria as a whole. The Inn is under renovation and there are still updates to be realized. Staff was friendly and responsive, linens and bathrooms were clean, and bath products were above average. There are free bikes for guests to take down the riverwalk. Breakfast was...

This hotel is being renovated. New mattresses (we had a California King), linens are now being used. It was so comfortable. Balcony railings are being replaced and the hotel exterior has been repainted. Once the renovation is complete I would definitely give it a higher rating. The free breakfast included eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, muffins, juice and more. We...

The staff was very friendly. The rooms and the property were very clean. They obviously try to keep up maintenance. It looks like all rooms have a great view of the marina. The rooms and buildings are in need of updating. Yes there is a dilapidated old building next to it but I don't think that is anything the hotel...

This hotel is older, but very very clean. The view from the room was amazing, as it overlooked the marina. However, just beyond that is the Columbia River where cargo ships come and go. Even the occasional cruise ship stops in. We were fascinated watching this. The weather was beautiful while we were there, so every morning we woke up...

We made a reservation based on the website advertising and when we arrived SAT 4/29, we were stunned at the appearance of the "motel". Our room 101 was adjacent to & connected to a condemned building and the room was dismal and substandard for such a high room rate ($200). We were told the following night would only be $99....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Originally opened as the Red Lion – Thunderbird Motor Inn and later simply as the Red Lion, the Astoria Riverwalk Inn was the town’s first waterfront hotel, established in the late 1960s. The Port of Astoria owns the facility, and in September 2015 contracted with new local ownership to assume and improve the Riverwalk Inn operations. The new ownership group is comprised of seasoned business management professionals with significant experience in commercial property development and hospitality, including the development and initial launch of the award-winning Hotel Elliott in downtown Astoria. With a new operating team in place since September 2015, literally everything is new at the Astoria Riverwalk Inn. From the luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets, redesigned dining area and lobby adorned with local, original artwork; the addition of a continental breakfast; extensive landscaping and general updates throughout (including lots of fresh paint!), guests will gain a sense of renewed care and attention to detail. Other complimentary amenities include a business center just off the lobby, upgraded high-speed Wi-Fi, a DVD library and “Beach Cruiser” bikes for exploring Astoria’s acclaimed four-mile long Riverwalk. We think you’ll find changes to the Astoria Riverwalk Inn create an inviting atmosphere for a restful stay on the waterfront. We hope to see you soon! ... more   less
