#10 of 14 hotels in Astoria
Originally opened as the Red Lion–Thunderbird Motor Inn and later simply as the Red Lion, the Astoria Riverwalk Inn was the town’s first waterfront hotel, established in the late 1960s. The Port of Astoria owns the facility, and contracted with new ownership to assume and improve the Riverwalk Inn operations. Literally everything is new at the Astoria Riverwalk Inn. From the luxurious cotton sheets, redesigned dining area and lobby adorned with local, the addition of a continental breakfast; extensive landscaping and general updates throughout (including lots of fresh paint!), guests will gain a sense of renewed care and attention to detail. Other complimentary amenities include a business center just off the lobby, upgraded high-speed Wi-Fi, a DVD library and “Beach Cruiser” bikes for exploring Astoria’s four-mile long Riverwalk. We think you’ll find changes to the Astoria Riverwalk Inn create an inviting atmosphere for a restful stay on the waterfront. We hope to see you soon!

Better then I expected. Great view, comfortable foam bed, excellent walk to town along the Columbia River. Look past the outside front, enjoy the inside with a view. Furniture is updated, front desk help is great.

Did not have any reservations in Astoria, and spied this place as I drove across the bridge from Wa. I was just "done" that day, after being disappointed in a place I had booked in Long Beach and subsequently rejected. The staff was nice, and managed to find a room for the night for us with two beds. Yes, it is older, but who needs luxury for a night? Nice selection of complimentary grab and go breakfast items. Great value. Walking from there was not as good as from other hotels because it takes a while to get to the good part. But, the room did have a nice view of the marina.

We booked this hotel after reading some good reviews online. As we drove through Astoria we thought it was such a cute town, but as we pulled up to the hotel we were shocked at how rundown it was. I was actually in disbelief that we would’ve booked this place. The pictures online looked nice-ish and updated. In real life it looks like a rundown old highway motel. We got to our room and noticed the room didn’t look as nice online either. Then I noticed old coffee cups on the balcony. Then we found a bunch of old gross food in the fridge - and not just one or two things... it was jam packed with someone’s old food. We immediately wanted to leave but were with a group so we had to stay. They had one other room left that they could offer, but again, was outdated and not very clean. There was mold in the shower. The hotel has tried giving this tired old place a facelift, but it wasn’t well done. There are a few updated items in a room, to help mask the cracks on the wall, water stains, dirty carpet, moldy showers, paper thin walls, etc. if you are thinking about staying here, do yourself a favor and find another alternative. Very disappointed with our first night’s stay in Oregon.

Clean room (read a previous review that said something about a smell- but our room was in great shape). Quiet and peaceful (aim for a room away from the stairs). Lovely view of marina and bridge. Staff was friendly and check-in easy. Would definitely stay again!

I booked this room for two nights for a quick getaway with my husband. This hotel is tired, dirty and smelly. The rooms look nothing like what is pictured on the website. We walked in the room and walked right back out, the smell was horrific. The gal at the front desk let us look at another room but it had the same disgusting odor. We ended up driving back home and not stayng at this property at all. They told me this was a non refundable booking. When I booked this room it did not state it was non refundable until after I booked and gave them my payment information. They did end up re-imbursing us for one of the nights but this was a very dissapointing experience to say the least. If you are looking for a place to stay in Astoria I would advise you to look elsewhere.
